Each year, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and is always 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) marked by repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration. The 40-day period represents Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness, where he fasted and where Satan tempted him. Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year for similar fasting, marking an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection.

Save the date! "Saints in Sin City" isn't just the theme of Paul's letters to the Corinthians: It's also the theme of our next in-person, interjurisdictional gathering of Old/Independent Catholic clergy & laity on November 4-6, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada!

We'll gather on All Saints Week, in cooperation with Santo Nino parish, at St. Luke Episcopal Church (820 H Street, 89106), beginning with a Mass of the Holy Spirit at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, and concluding at noon on Saturday. Many of us remember our last in-person gathering prior to the pandemic, which resulted in the book, A New Way of Being Catholic.

For those who are vaccinated and ready to gather with others in a socially-distanced way, this will be a similarly memorable experience of "coming together without coming together"! Registration will open next week.

The $100 suggested donation will help us cover the facility cost, speakers, dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday. And we are told that there's plenty of fun to be had in Vegas on Thursday night and Friday evening!

Santo Niño Catholic Church is happy to announce the celebration of the Inaugural Mass (In-person) at our new worship space at Saint Luke’s Episcopal, located at 820 H Street, Las Vegas, Nevada on October 3rd of this year. Sunday Mass is celebrated at 5:00 in the evening.

Santo Niño is a Parish Ministry of the Catholic Church of America, we, as members of the Mystical Body of Chris, commit ourselves to Christ's mission; to further the Kingdom of God by living out our Catholic faith with Honesty, Integrity, and Inclusiveness, as examples of Christ's presence in the world.

We affirm that all we are and all we have are gifts from God. We use these gifts and talents for the common good. We will provide a warm, welcoming environment that builds and fosters a spirit-filled community and share our beliefs through the celebration of the Sacraments.
