We Are Sacred Heart - RSCJ

We Are Sacred Heart - RSCJ This page welcomes all, but especially women exploring religious life, and the life of the Society of the Sacred Heart in particular.

Religious of the Sacred Heart seek, through prayer and contemplation, to be drawn ever more deeply into intimacy with God, who is always alive and active in our hearts. We invite women who are exploring God's call to get to know more about us through this online community. The Society of the Sacred Heart may be right for you if you ...
* want to root your life in God;
* want to respond wi

th generosity to the needs of others, especially the poor;
* have the heart of an educator;
* want to embrace the hopes and sufferings of humankind worldwide;
* are willing to share life in community;
* believe that transformation takes place in relationship with God and others. We live out our vocation today in a wide spectrum of ministries and settings according to certain priorities we have chosen. These include:

1) Dialogue toward Communion: Walking with Humanity
2) Contemplation
3) Community
4) Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation in Solidarity with Those Who are Most Vulnerable
5) Young People

St Oscar Romero, who sought to end violence by preaching and living the Gospel of love, teach us now how to overcome today's bitter polarizations.
St Oscar Romero, pray for us.

Catholic sisters and advocates gathered outside ICE headquarters on the feast of St. Oscar Romero, condemning violent tactics and urging agents to follow conscience over unjust orders.

The circle of love and compassion is broken,
whenever there is alienation,
whenever there is misunderstanding,
whenever there is insensitivity and a hardening of heart,
whenever we cannot see eye to eye,
whenever we cannont link hand to hand,
whenever we cannot live heart to heart and affirm our differences.

"As I looked at this wounded, troubled world, this world of contrasts and suffering, I felt that the Lord's call to us as RSCJ is the challenge of compassion; it is a call to develop in ourselves an attitude of heart in union and conformity with the wounded Heart of Jesus, the wound that never closes." (Helen McLaughlin, RSCJ)

Feast of St. Joseph

“…at each crisis or turning point in life, God’s voice was heard indicating the way.”

May the Spirit of peace bless our hearts, homes and the world.

“As family of the Sacred Heart, we are called to respond, “as One Body,” drawing from our charism and mission as educators. This means growing in a shared vision that allows us to understand the complexity of the political, economic, and social systems that confront us; increasing awareness of how we ourselves may be complicit in injustice; and deepening practices rooted in an integral ecology.”

Mater Admirabilis, show us the way of Love.

“Never before has the world needed the thoughtful and prayerful action of understanding Catholic women as it does today, never for many generations has the choice between God and the world been so sharply emphasized. The day has gone by when we can so blithely live as compartmental air-tight compartments functioning separately like parts of a well-behaved machine. Catholicism is nothing if it is not a life, unified, coordinated to its end, building up the entire personality into the likeness of Christ.”

"In a world so torn apart by rivalry, anger, and hatred, we have the privileged vocation to be living signs of a love that can bridge all divisions and heal all wounds."
