Dear friends, I am currently working on a script for a 3min professionally made video to call attention to the serious and ongoing pain of people who have suffered from Church Hurt. I will invite folks who want to share their stories - anonymously or openly - so that their true stories can be edited and compiled and put into the hands of every bishop in the United States, every seminary director, and in every parish/mission that exercises the pastoral care of souls. The objective of the project is to help bishops, priests, deacons, and lay leaders become aware of how often we cause deep hurt with our words and actions, our lack of compassion and empathy, our holding hostage the sacraments of the Church, and our willful lack of the consideration of others when we make decisions without consulting those we are charged to collaborate with in ministry. If you would like to be a part of this project in helping me craft the interview questions, help me find participants from all backgrounds and experiences, edit the work, and when it is ready, assist with getting it into the hands of those who need it most so that our hurt may be used to prevent the same hurt being caused to another.
