It is the story God began writing when He spoke the world into existence, and it is a story where God is the main character. It is a story filled with brokenness and with good news. It is the story of the sovereign God becoming a man, descending from His throne and stepping into the world He created that has been broken by sin and the fall. It is the story of Jesus. It is the story of Re:Generatio
n. In Isaiah 43:19, the Lord says through the prophet “Behold, I will do a new thing”, and the people watched and waited. And waited. And then, out of the darkness, Jesus came! Our Immanuel came! And with Him came a new hope, a new joy and a peace that surpassed all we would ever know. At the cross Jesus accomplished the work of the Gospel and all the Father sent Him to do. The payment of sin and death was made, the Victor claimed the ultimate victory. And now the same Gospel message is continuing this new hope.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Behold, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold all things have become new”. In Christ there is hope for “anyone”. At Re-Generation Church, we hope to “seek and save” the “anyone’s” far from Jesus in the San Diego area, and bring them to the cross, bringing them close to Jesus, and letting Him regenerate them body, soul and spirit. The story is unfolding in San Diego where darkness has killed dreams, deadened hope, and lied to His beloved for far too long. The enemy has snuck in, ruining families, marriages and individuals through addictions, crime and poverty. But, “where sin increased, grace abounded all the more”. The Lord Himself is writing and re-writing the next chapter of regeneration in San Diego. The Lord is gathering a group of sold out, blood-bought believers that are committed to not simply attending church on Sunday but to “being” the church. Not just gathering in a building on Sunday, but doing kingdom work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Picture a church that isn’t so much a place with a program, but a people with a purpose. Picture a church where lost people matter, just as they do to the Lord. Picture a church, engaged in the community, working together for the glory of God and the good of our city. Picture Community Goups of the church, ordinary people serving a supernatural God, intentionally living on mission to bring the light of the gospel and the message of hope to neighbors, family, friends and coworkers. Picture the lives of artist, mechanics, sailors, surfers, professionals, drug addicts, single moms and students from all over the greater San Diego area set free with the gospel of Jesus. Picture a church full of regenerated followers of Christ, being His hands and feet. Picture Re:Generation Church.
