San Diego Harmony Ringers

San Diego Harmony Ringers SDHR has entranced listeners with energy, precision and musicality since its founding in 1999.

This auditioned community ensemble is based in the Greater San Diego area, and draws talented musicians from all parts of San Diego County. The vision of San Diego Harmony Ringers is to bring the art and enjoyment of handbell music to the community through excellence in performance and musicianship. Members join together in harmony to ring with passion, beauty of expression, and a joy in sharing m

usic with those who listen. Since inception, San Diego Harmony Ringers has played concerts in varied churches, synagogues, auditoriums, and public spaces including the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park and The Huntington Library, performed a showcase concert at the 2008 Region XII conference of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and are regular participants in December Nights in Balboa Park.

The San Diego Harmony Ringers will be performing a Christmas mini-concert at 7:15 p.m. on Friday evening, December 6, 2019 at Faith Presbyterian Church in San Diego, California located at 5075 Campanile Drive, San Diego, California 92115 across from San Diego State University. Our first ringing engagement this year took place last Sunday (August 29, 2019) at St. Paul's Epicopal Cathedral in San Diego across from Balboa Park. This is one of the pieces we rang after the church service's conclusion during its postlude. It is entitled, "Tempest," composed by Kevin McChesney for the Raleigh Ringers.

For those in the San Diego area who may be interested and available this upcoming weekend, the San Diego Harmony Ringers will be ringing at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in San Diego before, during, and after it's Sunday morning worship service on Sunday, August 25, 2019. We plan to ring three pieces during the church service's Prelude beginning at about 10:15 am, then one piece during the Holy Communion portion of the worship service, and finally two more pieces during the worship service's Postlude, and we should be finished ringing sometime before noon. St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral is located at 2728 Sixth Ave, San Diego, CA 92103.

In keeping with their mission, i.e., "the San Diego Harmony Ringers are dedicated to bringing the art and enjoyment of handbell music to the community thorugh excellence in performance and musicanship," ..... the San Diego Harmony Ringers participate every year in the HMA's Area XII Southern California "Spring Ring." This year the 2019 Southern California Spring Ring was again held at St. Thomas More's Catholic Church in Oceanside, California on Saturday, May 18, 20189. The San Diego Harmony Ringers performed a solo piece, i.e, "Fantasy on 'King's Weston'" and, as always, they rang their handbells with precision and skill.

The San Diego Harmony Ringers will participate again this year in the annual Handbell Musicians of America Area XII Southern California “Spring Ring” for 2019. This all day event will be held on May 18, 2019 at St. Thomas Moore Roman Catholic Church located at 1450 S. Melrose Dr., Oceanside, California. It will conclude with a one-hour mass ring concert beginning at 5:00 p.m. The concert is open to the public. It is free but a free will offering will be taken. Ample parking is available in the church parking lot (also free). In addition to all mass ring pieces, the San Diego Harmony Ringers will perform a solo piece during the concert. ....The photo below is one of many taken at last year's "Spring Ring." We hope to see you there this year!
