New Update!
Happy New Year Family, Friends, and Ministry Partners.
We had the privilege of hosting our parents for Christmas and New Years here in Guadalajara, Mexico. It was both sets of parent's first time to visit Guadalajara. It was encouraging to show them our life and ministry in person after sharing stories over video for the past six months. It was exactly what we needed before starting this second half of the Murakami on Mission Project Year.
In the gospel of Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells his disciples, “Therefore Go and Make disciples of all nations.” This command is known as The Great Commission. Jesus Christ’s call to go and make disciples has taken on a renewed importance and life as Julie and I prepare to travel to three different countries on the Mesoamerica region over the next month. We will be supporting local leaders in restarting a church, encouraging local leaders and church members, and serving alongside them to minister to their communities.
In addition to this our missions work, we will also be participating in a Nazarene Global Mission’s event called Explore in Kansas City during this same time. This event is part of our ongoing assessment and orientation process on our journey towards becoming Global Missionaries. We remain independent missionary volunteers; but this event provides the opportunity to meet Global Missions leaders, attend seminars and workshops with other potential Global Missionaries. Julie and I are excited for this opportunity for further development and fellowship with other people who share the call to serve God internationally.
Julie and I would like to invite you to pray especially for our ministry and travel during this time. Please pray that God’s presence and power would be with us as we serve others; and that this work will prosper. Pray that God would guard our hearts and minds against attitudes and beliefs that would hinder our ability to love and serve others during our trip and learn during our time of evaluation and training. Please pray for our physical and spiritual health during this time. While we anticipate a wonderful trip, the amount of travel and work required during this time will be substantial. It is our prayer that God would sustain and empower us for the work he has called us to do.
We hope to share updates and praises/prayer requests as work and time permits. Thank you all for your faithful encouragement and support of our ministry. May God bless and keep you all.
In Christ,
Andrew and Julie Murakami
