Commit is a demanding word, it means to to perform, pledge, bind and obligate oneself to someone or something! The greatest commitment this works has ever experienced was Jesus and the Cross! Lk. 9:52-62: Commitment always requires us to re-prioritize. Jesus tried to get the rich young ruler to re-prioritize that which was most important to him in his life, but the young man refused and walked away from Jesus instead of following him and becoming a disciple. Even if you make a casual inquiry into the Bible, you cannot help but recognize that God puts a premium on commitment. Just look at how many times he refers to the nation of Israel as unfaithful, adulterers, or harlots,. Listen to the words to the church at Laodicea: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.“ Check out my book Black Belt Discipleship @ www.ginomingo.com
