“The Chinese Evangelist Gospel: Sit‑Down vs Buffet”

Matthew 11:28 — “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Brothers and Sisters, … sometimes that rest comes with egg rolls.

Some folks argue doctrine…
but the real spiritual debate hits when someone asks:

Sit‑down Chinese restaurant or Chinese buffet?

Sit‑Down Restaurant — The Evangelist With Patience

This is the place where the waiter comes to your table like a gentle preacher:
soft‑spoken, calm, and ready to guide you through the menu like it’s the Book of Proverbs.

You order one plate…
and somehow it multiplies like the loaves and fishes.
The tea keeps refilling like living water.
The fortune cookie hits you with a prophetic word you didn’t ask for.

This is the gospel of:
“Slow down, breathe, and let peace minister to you.”

The Buffet — The Evangelist With Fire

The buffet is a whole different ministry.
It’s loud.
It’s busy.
It’s chaotic.
It’s revival‑tent energy with steam trays.

You walk in hungry…
you walk out questioning your life choices… Not including the high blood pressure..

The buffet preaches the gospel of:
“Whosoever will, let him come… and come again… and come again” and ain’t that the truth!

It’s abundance.
It’s overflow.
It’s grace in the form of unlimited crab rangoons.

But Here’s the Truth

Whether you prefer the:

• Sit‑Down Restaurant for peace, or
• Buffet for abundance,
neither one can fill the hunger that matters most.

Because the real “all‑you‑can‑eat” of heaven is grace, mercy, and forgiveness and Jesus never runs out of refills.

The sit‑down feeds you slowly.
The buffet feeds you endlessly.
But Christ feeds you eternally… Word!

Qualified?

God has a history of using people who never felt qualified.

Moses said, “I am not eloquent” -Exodus 4:10
Gideon said, “My family is the least” -Judges 6:15
Jeremiah said, “I am a youth” -Jeremiah 1:6

God used them anyway.
Why? Because He qualifies the called.

And just to silence every critic,
God used a donkey to preach to a prophet -Num. 22:28
If He can use a donkey, He can use someone with a testimony and a willing heart.

Revelation 12:11 says we overcome “by the word of our testimony.”
Your story can minister to someone at the exact moment they need it.

So if leaders say you’re not qualified, remember:
“The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” —Romans 11:29

Walk in what God called you to.
Your testimony is already preaching.

WHAT’S YOUR DESTINY?

Most people live their entire lives never stopping long enough to ask the one question that shapes everything:
What’s your destiny?

Jesus made His clear.
He never drifted.
He never wandered aimlessly.
His paths changed, but His purpose didn’t.

“For this purpose I have come forth.”
— Mark 1:38
Jesus understood His assignment — His identity defined His direction.

Your life has a purpose too.
And one day, everything you lived will be summarized by a single dash on a gravestone which is the space between your birth and your departure.
That dash will preach louder than any sermon.

What will yours represent?

I’ve said it for years:
Your legacy and your destiny must match up in due time.
Legacy is what you leave behind.
Destiny is what God wrote ahead of time.
When those two align, purpose becomes visible.

And here’s the hope:
We must never stop believing because the Lord never stopped with us.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it…”— Philippians 1:6
God finishes what He starts! His commitment is the anchor of our destiny.

His relationship with us is the key that unlocks understanding.
Walk with Him, and the path becomes clearer.
Trust Him, and the doors open in due season.
Seek Him, and destiny stops being a mystery.

Your dash is still being written.
Your destiny is still unfolding.
And God is still working.

POST 5 of “Be Still” Series

Job: “Be Still and Consider”

“Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.”- Job 37:14

At this point, Job is overwhelmed by suffering and questions. Sound familiar?

Elihu tells him:
“Stand still,”which means; Pause. Reflect. Remember who God is.

But, before God restores Job, He re-centers Job’s perspective.

Many of us have been at this point at one time or another and are taught to ignore and keep pressing on. But we must understand that when God says to slow down and be still and we listen, our faith is activated and restoration will begin.

Stillness helps you remember God’s track record and reflection restores faith.

Heard this early this morning and needed to share.

Imagine drinking your morning cup of coffee and a co-worker accidentally bumps into you, what would you say?
Hmm..

When life bumps you, through stress, offense, anxiety, or pressure, whatever fills your heart is what spills out. (Like hot coffee)
If you’re full of anger, anger comes out.
If you’re full of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit comes out.

Galatians 5 says the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self‑control.
These aren’t just “nice traits”—they’re evidence of what’s ruling your inner life.

The real issue isn’t the bump.
It’s the cup.
Life doesn’t create your reaction, it reveals it.

Fill your heart with the Spirit, so when life hits you, Christ is what spills out… Word!

The Grocery Gospels
“H‑E‑B vs Walmart”

Philippians 4:19 reads;“And my God shall supply all your need…”
Sometimes He supplies it through a miracle…
sometimes through curbside pickup.

Some folks argue theology…
but in San Antonio, the real debate sounds like: H‑E‑B or Walmart?

H‑E‑B — The Promised Land

Walking into H‑E‑B feels like stepping into a land flowing with butter tortillas and yellow coupons.

The aisles are wide, the samples are blessed and the produce looks like it was tithed before it got put out.

H‑E‑B is the gospel of:
“We got you, mijo.”

It’s local, loyal, and It’s the store that knows your grandma by name.

Walmart — The Wilderness Test

Walmart is where your faith is tested, refined, and purified by fire.

You go in for milk…
you come out with a kayak, a TV, and a spiritual headache.

The lines are long, the crowds are loud and the parking lot is a battlefield.

But Walmart preaches the gospel of:
“Rollbacks and resilience.”

It’s chaotic…
but sometimes it’s the only place open when you need dog food at 11:47 PM.

But Here’s the Truth

Whether you shop at:
H‑E‑B for peace, or Walmart for prices, neither store can supply what your soul is starving for.

Because the real “grocery list” of heaven
is grace, mercy, and forgiveness —
and Jesus never runs out of stock.

H‑E‑B fills your pantry.
Walmart fills your cart.
But Christ fills your life… Word!

POST 4 of “Be Still Series”

Elijah: “The Lord Is Not in the Noise”

“…and after the fire a still small voice.”
— 1 Kings 19:12

Elijah is exhausted, afraid, and hiding. Wouldn’t you?

God sends wind, earthquake, and fire, but He’s not in any of them. Then comes a still small voice.

God teaches Elijah:
You hear Me best when you quiet the noise around you.

Stillness creates space for God’s whisper, but when life gets loud, God speaks softly.

“The Pollos Asaderos Gospel”

Psalm 23:5 reads; “You prepare a table before me…”
Brother and Sisters,… sometimes that table is covered in chicken, tortillas, and salsa verde.

If you grew up in the midst of that holy smoke all over San Antonio,
you already know Pollos Asaderos isn’t just food, it’s a spiritual experience.

You smell it before you see it.
That mesquite smoke hits you like a prophetic word.
The chickens grilling on the fire look like they’re being baptized in flavor.
And the tortillas?
Soft enough to heal childhood trauma.

But here’s the truth:
A lot of folks treat life like a Pollos Asaderos plate —
trying to fix stress with grilled chicken,
trying to cure emptiness with charro beans (hello),
trying to heal heartbreak with that salsa that burns like conviction.

But the hunger that hurts the most
isn’t in the stomach, it’s in the soul.

Pollos Asaderos can fill your belly that quenches that hunger you’ve been lacking. But only Jesus can fill your life.

Because the real “Mexican combo plate” of heaven is grace, mercy, and restoration and that meal never runs out, never gets cold, and never needs reheating.

So next time you’re standing in that smoky line, waiting for your half‑chicken plate with extra tortillas, remember:

Pollos Asaderos feeds your hunger…
but Christ feeds your heart. As we say; “Pansa llena Corazon Contenta”.. Y Esa Es La Palabra!
