As we get ready for The All American in Louisville, we're realizing just how much of Dream will be represented in our show string this year.

More than half of our string is connected to Dream!

Even more remarkable, we're taking EIGHT of her daughters, representing SEVEN different sires! From a spring calf to a five-year-old, we think that's a pretty incredible testament to the kind of cow she was and what she continues to pass on.

After saying goodbye to Dream this week, it's especially meaningful to look at this year's string and see so much of her legacy continuing. She gave us so many incredible memories, and now we get to keep making new ones with the generations she leaves behind.

That's something pretty special.

We’ve spent the last few days reflecting on Dream’s incredible life, but one of the most exciting parts of her story is just how much of it is still being written.

Dream leaves behind 131 female descendants spanning five generations, and that doesn’t even begin to account for the offspring of her sons in stud!

45 daughters, 64 granddaughters, 19 great granddaughters, and three more in the generations beyond.

And it’s not just the numbers. With an average classification score of 89.5, climbing to 91.1 for those in their second lactation or beyond, and impressive production averages, Dream’s progeny is influencing our herd and the breed.

And just how much of Dream’s legacy will be in our string at Louisville this year? Stay tuned tomorrow to find out!

As we continue to reflect on Dream and all the memories she gave us, we keep coming back to the people who became part of our lives because of her.

We actually bought Dream sight unseen after receiving a picture of her from Jeff Stephens. We made the trip to the border to pick her up in the dead of winter, and she was completely covered with a blanket. We didn’t even uncover her until we got her home to Kentucky. Thankfully, when we finally got a good look at what we’d bought, we were pretty pleased!

But what we didn’t know then was that we were getting so much more than a great cow.

Dream’s breeder, Nathan Wade, and his family became wonderful friends over the years. They even made the trip to Louisville the year Dream was named Reserve National Grand Champion, getting to share in a moment that meant so much to all of us. And you can see their favorite picture of the week below.

We’ve always said that the best part of showing cows is the people you meet along the way. Dream certainly proved that to be true.

The banners and championships are pretty special, but so are the friendships that came with them. We’re awfully thankful Dream brought the Wade family into our lives.

We had hoped to celebrate one more birthday with Dream. She would have turned 15 next week, but today we had to say goodbye to a cow who has meant more to our family than we could ever put into words.

How do you begin to sum up nearly 15 years with a cow like Dream?

Two National Championships. Countless banners, ribbons, and unforgettable moments in the show ring. But as proud as we are of everything she accomplished, those aren’t the things that make saying goodbye so hard.

It’s the memories made along the way. The friendships, the people who loved her alongside us, and all the little moments that never made it into a picture or a show result. It’s knowing that for nearly 15 years, she was simply part of our lives.

Dream gave us more than we ever could have imagined when she came into our lives. She even gave us a phrase that has stuck with us ever since: Livin’ the Dream. And what a dream it has been.

We are heartbroken to say goodbye, but overwhelmingly grateful that we got to be part of her story.

Thank you, Dream. For the championships, the memories, the friendships, the partnership with our dear friends Frank and Diane Borba, and most of all, for being ours.

We’ll never stop Livin’ the Dream. ❤️

A little heifer shuffle today! We had several groups that needed moved around, so we made a day of it.

Vaccinations, bringing the heavily bred heifers home, regrouping breeding groups, moving cleanup bulls, and getting the weaned heifers from the dairy out to pasture.

A lot of cattle to sort and move, but everyone is where they need to be for now. Until it’s time to shuffle them all again!

We created this award to recognize a junior who shares Ronnie’s genuine love for the Jersey cow and his belief in the future of the breed. This isn’t about banners, herd size, or having the most impressive list of accomplishments. It’s about the young people who love the cows, do the work, and want to be part of carrying the Jersey breed forward.

If that sounds like a young person you know, please encourage them to apply. And help us spread the word so we can reach as many Jersey juniors as possible.

Still Keepin’ the Fayeth!

A few of our favorite moments from Madison with KCJF/Lucky Lady Keep the Fayeth. Winning the Senior 3 Year Old class and earning Honorable Mention Intermediate Champion at World Dairy Expo made for a pretty memorable trip!

We’ve watched this cow develop into something pretty special, and we sure aren't tired of watching her in the ring.

Jackson had big goals for the fitting contest in Madison this week, but he has even bigger goals for the All American next month. So he made the tough decision to stay home and put the work in here instead.

Feeding, milking, bedding, working with cattle, and everything else that needs to be done. Having things at their best when it matters most takes a lot of little things done right every single day, and he’s been pretty dedicated to doing them.

And he still managed to get plenty of fitting practice. If he could get a halter on it, there was a pretty good chance it was getting clipped.

We’re proud of his dedication and his willingness to put in the work, even when it means giving up something else he really wanted to do.
