Rooted in Colossians 2:6-7, our Deeply Rooted Fall Retreat explores what it means to be a woman whose faith runs deep enough to hold her through any season. Through stories of bold Biblical women, including the woman with the issue of blood, Esther, Deborah, Huldah, and Mary, we'll discover that radical faith is not about feeling fearless. It's about acting on what we know to be true, even when it's hard. You'll leave with roots that go deeper, a faith that moves mountains, and a heart overflowing with thankfulness for the God who holds your story.

Signs of a New Season: Arise and Shine Devotional

“For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT)

Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!

There it was. I could see it as I drove down the street toward home. The leaves were starting to change color on a few trees. The first sign of fall… soon followed by the release of my favorite fall drink at the local coffee shop. The season is changing, and I am delighted.

I think God knew our need for seasons: to know that when it feels like winter in our souls, and the world seems to reflect the bareness of the trees, spring will come. When the heat of a dry season feels unbearable, to know that the fall rain will return. We aren't stuck in a season forever. Ready or not, change is coming… and sometimes that's exactly what our heart needs.

Other times, we're not ready for change. We like the way things are going and would love for everything to stay the same, to freeze time and stay in that season. But God knows better. He knows how to grow us. He knows that it's when the wind blows and the storms rage that our roots are sent deep into the soil, anchoring us to Jesus in a way that would never happen if we didn't recognize our need for Him.

This fall, how's your heart handling the change of seasons? Ecclesiastes reminds us that for everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Whether you're walking through a hard season right now, or, like me, welcoming the end of one, embrace the truth that God isn't surprised by the change in seasons. He's with you every moment: through the days of quiet and pumpkin spice lattes, and when the storms come, the power goes out, and you wonder where you put the flashlight. He's there, walking with you through it all.

Today, sit with Jesus in your season. Talk to Him about what's going on in your life. He's listening, dear one. And if you're ready for this season to be over, look around for those first signs of a new season coming. I'm ready, are you?
