Sudden and dramatic changes in temperature can lead to leaky pipes, or even bursts. The City of St. Petersburg is keeping an eye on our water mains and pipes, but here's what you can do to help prevent your pipes from freezing.

• Turn on faucets overnight at a slow trickle
• Insulate your external pipes
• Disconnect any outdoor hoses
