Howdy folks! My wife and I have been doing a great study through the book of Revelation, and I’ll tell you—it has brought us to some eye-opening moments.
One thing that has really stood out is how careful we must be about who we choose to follow and allow to influence our spiritual lives. Churches, pastors, teachers, and leaders can have a tremendous impact on the direction we take.
One leader can blaze a trail that draws people closer to Christ, while another can lead people straight into a ditch.
Just look at two churches Jesus addressed in Revelation 3:
The Church of Laodicea — They had size, wealth, and believed they needed nothing. Yet Jesus called them lukewarm and warned that He would spew them out of His mouth.
The Church of Philadelphia — They had “little strength,” but they remained faithful. They kept His Word and did not deny His name. Jesus placed before them an open door that no one could shut.
That speaks loudly to me.
Bigger doesn’t always mean better. Smaller doesn’t mean insignificant.
Your life is shaped by the choices you make—including who you follow, who you listen to, and who you allow to influence your walk with God.
Choose Christ.
Submit to His Word.
Follow His will.
Stay faithful even when the crowd is small.
Because in the end, the crowd may be smaller, but your relationship with Christ can be bigger than ever.
