We should never celebrate pride in something clearly defined by God as a distortion of His design for human sexuality. We all need a new identity… one that is renewed in the image of Christ. May pride be replaced this month with humility and repentance.

Being a husband has been the most humbling and revealing role in my life. What’s revealed hasn't always been pretty. My lovely wife has endured my shortcomings more times than I‘d want to admit. I find no pride in that... But I do find hope in the Savior, who daily uses marriage as a means of grace to shape me to become more like Him.

Carrying a cross in marriage should not be seen as duty, but as delight… we get what we cultivate, and sacrificial love is what builds intimacy.

I often advise new grooms that being a husband is a unique journey to becoming more Christ-like. Men, let's accept the challenge of modeling Jesus in our homes. Our wives need our love, our legacies depend on it, and true love means sacrificing and servanthood.

There is nothing more important for a community than to have healthy, biblical, Christ centered churches. That is not a statement out of arrogance, but biblical conviction. Only the Church has the call and empowerment to continue Christ’s mission on the earth. Let's not be ashamed of who God made us!
