Title: “God Sent an Angel Named Gina”
Sometimes God shows up in ways that leave us speechless — and today was one of those days.
After five weeks in the hospital from a catastrophic foot injury that required partial amputation, I was finally home and trying to get to two doctor appointments — one with Infectious Disease and the other with Wound Care. I’m not able to walk yet and rely on a knee scooter to move around.
Determined to make it on my own, I wheeled out to my car, got myself inside, and turned the key — but the battery was completely dead. I hadn’t driven in six weeks. My heart sank. Alone, new to Star, Idaho, and needing urgent care, I didn’t know what to do.
Just then, a car pulled into my driveway. Out stepped a woman delivering an Amazon package I had ordered earlier in the week. She came up to my garage, handed me the box, and immediately noticed my injury.
She asked kindly, “Are you okay?”
I told her the truth: “Not really.”
When she heard that my car wouldn’t start and that I had to get to Boise — 45 minutes away — she didn’t hesitate. She said, “You know what? You’re my last delivery of the day. Let me drive you. I think this is a God thing.”
Her name is Gina — and that day, she became my angel.
Gina helped me back onto my scooter, backed her car into my driveway, and helped me inside. She even returned my scooter to the garage. Then she drove me all the way to Boise, waited for me through both appointments, and brought me home again.
Who does that?
Only someone sent by God.
As I sat in her car on the way home, tears filled my eyes. I realized that when I felt the most helpless, God already had the answer on the way. I didn’t need to panic — I just needed to trust.
Psalm 91:11 (NLT) says:
“For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.”
Today, God proved that verse true. I met one of His angels, and her name is Gina.
If you’re reading this and wondering if God sees your struggle — He does. He’s already working behind the scenes to send help at just the right moment.
Today, in Star, Idaho, I witnessed a miracle.
