Dedicated to spreading the word of The Illuminated Monkey. The Church Of The Illuminated Monkey is based on the research of its founder, D.A. Boles. Exodus 33:3).
Beginning his studies at an early age, Boles attempted to understand how the wide cultural and social chasm between the two fields of thought that guided Creationism and Evolution, came to encompass our civilization. Being raised in the sixties with a deep Church Of Christ influence, partly aligned also by indoctrination into the Catholic Church at a later age of youth, Boles began reading about B
uddhism, Zoroasterism, Jainism and Hindu faiths, as well as those of primitive peoples living long before these faiths. Whenever he could find books on them, which were rare, Boles read on any culture he could find to further his understanding of the pivotal questions; Creationism or Evolution. Finding huge gaps that existed in both theories he sought to explain archeological and anthropological finds in the world that were in direct conflict with both arguments. Also, why was it that no one could explain the “missing link”, much less find it, that man supposedly evolved from. Boles continued his studies into adulthood and began searching in earnest to find an answer to the problems he encountered with both Theology and Evolution in his youth. In his early twenties, he discovered the Enuma Elish, the ancient Sumerian creation story detailing the Anunnaki, people of the 12th planet, which discusses the periodic return to our solar system of a large, red planet called Nibiru. Nibiru was home to a race of war-prone hominids referred to in ancient texts by either their earlier Sumerian name of Anunnaki or their later Hebrew name of Nefilim. The Anunnaki are described as handsome, well developed human look-a-likes who are physically larger than humans; averaging 10-15 feet tall. The Anunnaki were technologically capable of interplanetary space travel when they first arrived on Earth nearly 450,00 years ago. Nibiru was called the 12th Planet by the ancients because it is a member of our solar system (ancients included the Moon and Sun as planets). However, unlike the other planets in our solar system, which are in a singular orbit around the sun, Nibiru is in a binary orbit between two suns: our sun and another cold, unlit sun, far out in our galaxy. Nibiru returns to our solar system approximately every 3,600 years. Nibiru is sometimes referred to as the red comet or red star in some ancient texts. The 3,600-year periodic cycle of Nibiru is called a Shar, or Sar, by Sumerian historians. While a single shar occupies a time span of a little more than 3,600 years on Earth, it is equivalent to one year on the planet Nibiru. All told, ancient Sumerian clay tablets and cylinder seals record a total period of occupation/visitation by the Anunnaki of over 124 Shar's (446,400 earth years). Boles discovered compelling historical evidence that the Anunnaki actively participated in the affairs of mankind up to the final destruction of the great city of Sumer in Mesopotamia, about 2,000BC. According to Sumerian texts, the Anunnaki's original objective in coming to Earth was to mine for Gold; an element they atomically dispersed into their atmosphere in order to prevent Nibiru’s core-produced heat from dissipating excessively into space. Since 99% of Nibiru's orbital cycle is too far from our sun to benefit from its heat, it has to retain its internally generated heat in order to survive. The Anunnaki first extracted gold from the waters of the Persian Gulf area, but later switched to land mining in South Africa and other locations due to the greater abundance of gold ore found there. There are many stories that the Anunnaki had access to a plant (or tree), native to Nibiru, that prevents normal aging and bodily deterioration. Sumerian texts referred to it as the Tree of Life. Later, the Bible referred to it as Knowledge of The Tree of Life, in the Garden of Eden story. Only Anunnaki royalty had privileged access to the Tree of Life (sometimes called Ambrosiac in Sumerian texts). They absorbed this substance into their bodies by taking baths soaked with this life-extending plant. This special bath water was the origin of the story of The Fountain of Youth. Because of this life-extending plant, Anunnaki royalty enjoyed extremely long lives. There are many references in ancient texts that reveal that some members of the highest echelons of the royal pantheon participated intermittently throughout the entire 446,000 years of the Anunnaki's occupation of Earth. The last time the 12th Planet passed by the Earth was during the time of the Exodus from Egypt. In fact, the upheavals, cataclysms, and fear generated by the near passage of the 12th Planet allowed the Israeli slaves the opportunity to escape from the grip of Pharoah's troops who had become completely overwhelmed by panic and confusion. Red dust (iron oxide), along with larger chunks of debris, traveling in the trailing wake of the fast moving 12th Planet rained down onto the Earth's atmosphere during a close passage. This red dust landing in water accounted for the Biblical account of the rivers running red with blood. The Bible, along with other cultural stories, also refers to fierce lighting storms and the red particle debris "reddening the face of men”. The nearing passage of planet Nibiru created an electrical/magnetic storm of an intensity which only occurs during a close passage of the 12th Planet when it reacts with carbon materials thrown into the atmosphere by volcanic action. This produces a type of sticky carbohydrate substance in the atmosphere. In some areas, this substance precipitates to the ground and is available as food if collected in the early, pre-dawn hours. When the substance falls on water, it appears whitish in color. Called Ambrosia in ancient texts (Greek), or Manna (in other texts), this carbohydrate material is the biblical reference to milk and honey ("Unto a land flowing with milk and honey". Boles continued with his studies, comparing ancient texts and cultural stories/myths around the globe and throughout the eras of man. In so doing he discovered the universal story of the “great flood” and the universal teachings that society can only advance through war, but in the end, he discovered war would always terminate the societies. Boles also discovered the obvious revelation when genetic comparisons came about that not only are we all closely interrelated, but there is a series of genes within some humans that do not correspond to our gene pool at all. In fact, it is nowhere to be found on earth at all. Where did this alien DNA come from and why do only a few humans have it? Gathering this information together he began to look at his youthful debates of Creationism versus Evolution in a new light. What if the academics of old totally missed the mark with Man evolving from the Apes? There was a bit of scientific evidence to prove such a theory, yet those theories that were put forth had many holes in them that could not be explained. Similarly, what if the early religious scholars had equally missed the mark by stating Man was created by God, with the Earth and the Universe created in its entirety within seven days (six if you do not count His day of rest). Looking at the cultural stories, myths, and writings in chronological order, Boles found that they all supported one another. In fact, they sprang from one another, each culture embellishing the other culture’s stories and myths to fit their own needs. What if the Enuma Elish, the oldest of them all, was right, and all that followed were advanced adaptations of the story that grew and morphed into the many vast and distinct cultural stories and myths that we have today?

The Church Of The Illuminated Monkey teaches religions and philosophies from ancient times. It is telling to see the attack of Iran by Israel and the United States was brought forth immediately before Purim. Little is remembered these days of ancient times, though in the mid-east it is seldom forgotten. Take some time and check out Purim, and the story of Esther, if you do not already know. It will explain a lot. It might even be - Illuminating.
Purim (Hebrew: פּוּרִים Pūrīmⓘ, lit. 'lots'[1][a]) is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people by Queen Esther from annihilation at the hands of an official of the Achaemenid Empire named Haman, as it is recounted in the Book of Esther.

Creationism or Evolution? The Illuminated Monkey combines elements of creation myths and ancient stories as a symbol of knowledge and enlightenment, drawing from various cultural stories and myths throughout history. In different cultures, monkeys are featured in creation myths and stories, such as - Hanuman: a hero monkey in Hindu mythology and the Indian epic Ramayana - Sun Wukong: a mythological figure in Chinese literature, also known as the Baboon King, featured in the classic novel Journey to the West - Sarugami: a monkey god in Japanese mythology, often depicted as an evil deity - Hun-Chowen: a howler monkey in Classic Maya writings, associated with artists and writers.
The Church of the Illuminated Monkey suggests that humans gained enlightenment from an outside source, rather than gaining enlightenment directly from evolution. This idea draws inspiration from ancient Sumerian texts, such as the Enuma Elish, which describe the Anunnaki, beings from another planet interacting with early humans, and Indigenous First People accounts of Star People coming to Earth to share their knowledge.
The Illuminated Monkey is seen as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom, encouraging humans to live in harmony with the planet.

Religious writings detailing the deeds of the warrior monkey Hanuman, one of the central characters of the Indian epic Ramayana, are the least of written and oral stories describing a hero monkey. Sun Wukong, also known as the Baboon King, is a mythological figure who features in a body of legends that can be traced back to the Song dynasty. He appears as a main character in the 16th century Chinese classical novel Journey to the West and is found in many later stories and adaptations. There is the story of the monkey gods Sarugami (ja) of Japan, often depicted as evil deities, as in the tales of Shippeitaro, or among the Classic Mayas, the howler monkey god who was a major deity of the arts—including music—and a patron of artisans, especially of the scribes and sculptors.
In recent times, 2015, there was as excavation in Honduras (still ongoing) of a lost culture's city. The archeological team was led to the remote, uninhabited jungle by centuries old oral stories of a "White City" which was referred to in the legends of the region and the "City of the Monkey God." These stories, and many more like them, are found around the globe within nearly all cultures.
D.A. Boles titled these similar stories as stories of The Illuminated Monkey, a creature that has continued to survive the eons of time through knowledge. He watches humanity stumble their way through time. Watches them confuse a brief spec in the grand nature of us all as "life". He has seen the many wars man has created and the ultimate destruction they bring. Through it all he watches it unfold with psychedelic flavor.
Terence McKenna argued in his ground breaking book Food of the Gods (1992) that what enabled Homo erectus to evolve into Homo sapiens was its encounter with magic mushrooms and psilocybin, the psychedelic compound within them, on that evolutionary journey. He called this the Stoned Ape Hypothesis. At first dismissed as a radical theory, it showed renewed interest in a symposium in 2017 and is actively being studied today as a viable theory of evolutionary change.
So, the concept of an Illuminated Monkey is not as strange as it might seem. In studying numerous religions both modern and ancient, Boles discovered a common thread that ran through them all. While many modern religions require exacting steps in order to attain salvation of the soul, with the church compiling a complex set of rules that define your behavior. Not surprisingly, most of these rules include tithing and supporting the church.
In analyzing the texts of long forgotten religions, Boles did not find the same rules of modern religions and support for the church but instead found a much simpler view of life. He noticed the attainment of joy within the community the individual belonged to was a remarkably simple task that began with, the individual. Boles took this knowledge and distilled it down to its base act. How do you attain joy in life; Be A Good Human. How do you become a good human; Simply be one.
There is not a formal building, or Church, for The Church Of The Illuminated Monkey. There is not a need to gather together at set times to express devotion or to ask for salvation or to even repent your sins. All that is necessary is to understand that man has destroyed himself many times over, throughout all of history. The Illuminated Monkey has survived it all and has given us knowledge to end this continuing cycle of destruction: BE GOOD HUMANS. It's now up to us if we are to change the direction of man's evolution from one of war and destruction to one of living in harmony with the planet we all inhabit, which includes all life on the planet. So, be the Monkey. It's not that difficult.
