The Little Free Pantry at ROFUM

The Little Free Pantry at ROFUM Food insecurity is a big issue. Our Little Free Pantry hopes to make a small dent in our Royal Oak Neighborhood by providing various necessities for free.

Food insecurity is defined as: a household-level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food. Our Little Free Pantry provides necessities to those in need in our Royal Oak Neighborhood. Spearheaded by Eric Blessman and his Eagle Scout Project "The Little Free Pantry" at ROFUM (Royal Oak First United Methodist Church) will be another tool in addressing food insecur

ity. Please consider donating items to our pantry. Our pantry is located at 320 W. Seventh St., Royal Oak Michigan.

Many thanks to Megan Holmberg Pugh and her children for stocking our pantry today, on a National Day of Service, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Our pantry is sustained by good neighbors like Megan (and her kiddos)!

We have been stocking the pantry steadily over the last several weeks. We are not putting any canned goods in at this time; as if the cans freeze it will break the seal causing a food safety issue. We have been currently stocking with "dry" items - or items that will not freeze (or if frozen will not cause a safety issue).

Some items that have a quick turn over (and we could use more of):
- Individual servings of peanut butter
- Granola bars
- Protein bars
- Protein drinks (like "Boost" or "Ensure")
- Individual servings of tuna (vacuumed packed packages)
- Hand / toe warmers
- Personal sized hygiene items (soap, shampoo, lotion)
- Personal razor
- Bottled water / drinks

If you'd like to arrange a drop off - please message us. Items can also be donated at Royal Oak First United Methodist Church during normal business hours (Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.).

Many thanks for your continued support of the Little Free Pantry at ROFUM.
