Elisha's servant woke up to an enemy army surrounding the city — and panicked. Elisha saw the exact same thing and wasn't afraid at all. The difference wasn't the army. It was what else was there that only one of them could see.

We look at 2 Kings 6 and the moment God opens a servant's eyes to see the armies of heaven surrounding Elisha. We talk about why we tend to believe God's presence is proven by the absence of problems, why the greatest danger in a crisis is often what we believe is happening rather than what's actually happening, and why faith isn't pretending the enemy isn't there — it's knowing the enemy isn't the only one there. If you feel surrounded right now, this message is for you.

There’s something special about women coming together, opening God’s Word, and making room for Him to speak.

That’s what we’re praying for as we prepare for Free Indeed.

Not just a great conference or a fun day together, but a day where women walk through the doors exactly as they are and leave knowing the freedom, grace, and mercy found in Jesus a little more deeply.

We would love for you to be one of them.

Join us this October for Free Indeed at First Baptist Rockwood.

Happy Birthday, Pastor Drew!

We’re still not quite past the Ric Flair sermon reference, so it only seemed appropriate to celebrate our very own “stylin’ and profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, wheelin’ and dealin’ son of a gun!” 😂

All jokes aside, we’re incredibly thankful for Pastor Drew and the way he faithfully leads, serves, encourages, and loves our church family. We’re grateful for his heart for the Lord and his desire to see others know and follow Christ.

Help us wish Pastor Drew a very happy birthday! 🎂

WOOOOO! 🙌

A woman made room in her house for a prophet — and God gave her a son. Then that son died in her arms. This message is about what to do when the very thing God promised you looks like it just died.

We walk through the story of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4 — from making room for Elisha, to receiving a promised son, to watching that son die, to seeing him raised back to life. We talk about why we so often confuse the death of a circumstance with the death of God's promise, and why death can actually be the stage where resurrection power gets displayed.

A widow had nothing but a single jar of oil and a mountain of debt. God didn't send more oil first — He sent an instruction: go borrow empty vessels. This message is about what it takes to actually receive what God wants to give.

We look at the story of the widow's oil in 2 Kings 4 to talk about why our first instinct is to minimize what we already have, why God can take what seems small in our hands and make it sufficient, and why the oil only flows when it's poured out. If you feel like you're waiting on God to fill you but haven't emptied your hands yet, this message is for you.
