97th New York Infantry

97th New York Infantry This reenactment unit was started in honor of many brave men serving out of town of Booneville, New York. We are Christian progressive style unit.

As a unit we are Christian organization which will focus more on the progressive impression of the Union solider from 1861-1865. The 97th New York Infantry was formed in late 1861 and served until 1865. Original commander Colonel Charles Wheelock. Colonel Wheelock led the unit until his death in January of 1865. The unit served in the 1st Corps then was transferred to the 5th Corps.
