School’s out and KidCity came READY TO PARTY! 🎉

Last night was absolutely stellar as we celebrated the start of summer with games, laughs, crazy energy, and one unforgettable moment—a 100-foot ice cream sundae bar! The Family Life Center was packed with smiling faces, sugar rushes, and memories our kids won’t forget anytime soon.

And the energy continues this Sunday (not sundae… wink wink) as we dive into the Sermon on the Mount—Jesus’ most popular message. We can’t wait to see your family in KidCity at 8AM, 9:30AM, or 11AM.

Love Your City Sunday is almost here, and KidCity is showing up big time!

Our elementary kids are rolling up their sleeves to prep care packages for the amazing patrons at SunCare Hospice and Palliative Care. Our Pre-K/5 kids are getting ready to serenade senior citizens at local nursing facilities with smiles, songs, and enough cuteness to make everyone cry just a little. And our nursery kids have one very important assignment: be adorable. Honestly, they were made for this role.

This year we’re launching nearly 50 projects across multiple counties for RCOG’s biggest volunteer event of the year with over 600 participants serving from the youngest to the oldest!

Mother’s Day in KidCity was in full bloom yesterday! Our lesson, Watch Me Bloom, was all about how moms and mother figures help grow, nurture, encourage, and shape the hearts of kids every single day. Just like flowers need water, sunlight, and care to flourish, our kids are blooming because of the love, prayers, encouragement, and faith poured into them by the incredible women in their lives. It was such a fun and meaningful day celebrating the people who help make KidCity kids who they are!

We also opened up the KidCity Flower Shop for the day (special thanks to NewLife Flowers & Gifts for sponsoring the flowers!). Kids got the chance to build custom bouquets for their moms and special mother figures, and they absolutely loved it! There’s just something special about watching kids carefully pick out flowers with huge smiles on their faces knowing they get to surprise someone they love. Thank you to every amazing mom, grandmother, aunt, mentor, and spiritual mother who helps our kids bloom into everything God created them to be. Yesterday was beautiful!

Slush Rush was an absolute blast this week in KidCity! The Family Life Center was packed wall-to-wall with roller skates, scooters, hoverboards, blades, and every slushie flavor imaginable. 🍧🛼

The crowd favorites? Cherry Bomb — a lemonade and cherry syrup combo — and Shark Bite — blue raspberry mixed with strawberry. Safe to say the slushie station stayed busy all night long.

But beyond the sugar rush, we kept digging into our series on Jesus in the wilderness and the powerful fruit of the Spirit: self-control. Slushies are fun, but they don’t last long. The fruit God grows in us when we follow Him? That can have eternal impact.

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow for Mother’s Day at 8AM, 9:30AM, and 11AM! We’ve got some special surprises blooming for all our KidCity moms.

Today, on this National Day of Prayer, we’re reminding our KidCity families of something powerful: prayer is a lifeline.

There is no greater investment you can make in your child’s future than covering them in prayer. Pray over their faith. Pray over their friendships. Pray over their purpose. Pray that they would grow into men and women who passionately love Jesus and boldly impact the world around them.

At KidCity, we believe we are not just raising good kids—we are raising a generation of world changers. 🙌

Take a few moments today to pray over your children by name. Heaven hears the prayers of parents!

We’re officially dropping our May theme—Major Chill! Get ready for a fun, vibrant, ice-cream-and-slushie-filled month all about discovering how living God’s way leads to the sweetest life. From high-energy Slush Rush moments to “sweet” Sundays like Love Your City Sunday and Mother’s Day, plus our School’s Out Party including our first ever 100ft ice cream sundae, we’ve packed this month with moments your kids are going to love!

And we’re not just having fun—we’re diving into powerful lessons too! From Jesus being tempted in the wilderness (ice cream is a major temptation for anyone else? 🍦) to moments like the healing of the l***r, your kids will be learning what it looks like to choose God’s way, love others well, and live with compassion every day. It’s going to be meaningful, memorable, and seriously sweet—we can’t wait to partner with you and your family over the month of May!

John the Baptist knew something we all need to remember—he wasn’t the point, he was the pointer. 👉🔥 His whole life was about directing people to Jesus, not building his own spotlight. What if we lived like that? Less “look at me” and more “look at Him.” That’s the kind of bold, humble, purpose-filled life we’re talking about in KidCity!

Tonight, we’re keeping the story going (and yes… it’s gonna get a little wild) as we make our clip-on locust crafts! You won’t want to miss it—see you at Family Ministries Night at 7PM!

As we kicked off the New Testament journey (on our way to the miracles of Jesus), we made a quick “pit stop” at the birth of Christ—and honestly, some scholars think April might not be too far off! So, Christmas in April? We'll take it!

This week, your kids learned about the wise men making a wise choice—choosing not to return to King Herod. We talked about the difference between two kinds of kings: one who was insecure and afraid (Herod), and the true King, Jesus, who came not to take… but to give His life.

Parent prompt: On the way home or at bedtime, ask your child: “What kind of king do you think Jesus is—and how is He different from other leaders?” Let them talk it out—you might be surprised what sticks!

Next week… things get a little wild as we meet John the Baptist! 🐪🌿

KidCity Drive-In Movie Day = UNREAL 🚗🎬

80 kids took over the floor, Chick-fil-A in hand, popcorn flowing, chocolate everywhere (seriously… everywhere), and the room full of laughter from start to finish. We watched Zootopia 2, rocked our animal masks, played games, and made memories that these kids won’t forget anytime soon.

This is what KidCity is all about—faith, fun, and moments that matter. Already counting down to the next one. 🍿✨

We turned the page in a BIG way this Sunday… KidCity officially stepped into the New Testament! ✨ After over a year of exploring the Old Testament, seeing God’s faithfulness story after story, we finally arrived at Matthew 1!

We unpacked the genealogy of Jesus and watched God’s promises come full circle. From Adam & Eve… to Abraham… to David… all the way to Jesus—every promise fulfilled, every detail intentional. To bring it to life, we stretched a red string across the room, connecting each name and showing our kids how God was writing one BIG story all along. (And yes… it was just as powerful as it sounds!)

And because this is KidCity… we kicked things off the only way we know how—with a MASSIVE silly string party 🎉 Nothing says “New Testament kickoff” like laughter, energy, and 86 cans of silly string!
