Today's readings remind us that faith is not lived in isolation. The 1st reading calls us to be watchful for one another. When we see someone losing their way, we have a responsibility to speak the truth with love. St Paul deepens this message: "Love does no wrong to a neighbour": love is the fulfilment of the law (Rom 13:8-10). Christian correction is never about condemning others, but about helping one another return to the righ path. In the Gospel, Jesus gives us a practical way of dealing with difficulties in the community. We are called to speak directly, patiently and with love, seeking reconciliation rather than humiliation. Where two or three gather in His name, Christ is present among them (Mt 18:15-20). His presence should make our communities places of forgiveness and healing. Lord, give us courage to speak the truth with love and humility. Help us to correct without judging, forgive without keeping records and always seek reconciliation. May Your presence unite our hearts and make us instruments of peace. Fr. simon Peter

Today's readings remind us that God calls us to faithful stewardship and openness to renewal. People must think of us as Christ's servants. Saint Paul teaches that we are servants and stewards of God's mysteries. What matters is not human approval, but being found faithful when the Lord comes, for He alone sees the intentions of every heart (1 Cor 4:1-5). In the Gospel, Jesus speaks of fasting, the bridegroom and the new w**e. His message is clear: life with Him cannot be reduced to old habits and rigid ways. The new life He offers requires hearts that are open, flexible and ready to receive His grace (Lk 5:33-39). St Boniface I served the Church during a challenging period, seeking to remain faithful to Christ and His Church. His example reminds us that true leadership is stewardship, not self-glory. Lord, make us faithful stewards of all You have entrusted to us. Give us humble hearts, open to Your renewing grace, so that we may never allow old habits to prevent us from receiving the new life You offer.

Memorial of Saint Gregory the Great, Pope and Doctor of the Church. Today's readings call us to trust God's wisdom rather than the wisdom of the world. In the 1st reading, St. Paul reminds us that human pride can deceive us, while true wisdom is found in belonging to Christ. Our gifts and achievements become fruitful when placed in God's hands (1 Cor 3:18-23). In the Gospel, Jesus tells Peter to put out into the deep. After a night of fruitless work. Peter obeys and witnesses an abundant catch. Realising his own unworthiness, he says, "Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man." Yet Jesus does not reject him; He calls Peter to become a fisher of people (Lk 5:1-11). God can transform our weakness into mission when we trust Him. St Gregory the Great lived this spirit of humble service. As Pope and Doctor of the Church, he used his wisdom and gifts for Christ and His people. May we do the same. Lord, free us from pride and self-reliance. Give us courage to trust Your word, go into the deep, and serve You faithfully.

Today we celebrate the Memorial of the Passion of St. John the Baptist, a faithful witness who remained true to God even when it cost him his life. In the 1st reading, St. Paul reminds us that God chooses what is weak and humble in the eyes of the world to reveal His wisdom and power (1 Cor 1:26-31). Our greatness doesn't come from status or achievement, but from belonging to Christ. The Psalm assures us that the Lord watches over those who fear Him and delivers those who hope in His mercy (Ps 33). In the Gospel, John the Baptist courageously speaks the truth to Herod, refusing to remain silent about what was wrong. His faithfulness leads to his imprisonment and death (Mk 6:17-29). John reminds us that following Christ means standing for the truth with courage, even when it is difficult. His life challenges us not to compromise our values for popularity, comfort or approval. Lord, through the intercession of John the Baptist give us courage to speak the truth with love and remain faithful even when the cost is high. Fr Simon Peter Lule
