Who—or what—is directing your steps each day?

The Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own strength. God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us, strengthen us, and help us become more like Jesus.

This week on Jesus in Your Weekend, we look at Galatians 5:16 and 25 and what it means to walk by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit—not just in the big decisions, but in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

As you head into this weekend, try beginning your day with one simple prayer:

🙏 “Holy Spirit, guide my steps today.”

Then listen for His leading.

Trust His direction.

And when He shows you the next step—take it.

☀️ Summer Reflections – Episode 6
Jesus: The Greatest News Ever Told
📖 John 20:30–31

We hear the word Gospel often.

But have we ever stopped to think about what it really means?

The Gospel isn’t simply a message about Christianity.

The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus. ✝️

It tells us who Jesus is.
Why He came.
What He did.
Why it matters.
And how we can respond to Him.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He willingly gave His life on the cross for our sins. And three days later, the tomb was empty.

Jesus is alive.

And because He lives, there is forgiveness for our sin, hope in our struggles, grace when we fail, purpose for today, and the promise of eternal life for everyone who places their faith in Him.

Maybe you’ve known about Jesus your entire life.

But have you trusted Him personally?

The Gospel isn’t simply information to believe.

It’s an invitation to receive.

In Episode 6 of Summer Reflections, we’ll return to the heart of our faith and reflect on the greatest news the world has ever heard—Jesus Christ.

And for those of us who already know Him, may we never become so familiar with the Gospel that we lose our wonder over what Jesus has done for us.

Jesus in Your Weekend: The Door Is Open Today

📖 “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)

How many times do we tell ourselves…

Someday I’ll get serious about God.
Someday I’ll surrender.
Someday I’ll have that conversation.
Someday I’ll respond.

But Scripture keeps bringing us back to one word:

Today.

None of us knows what tomorrow holds. But here is the beautiful truth of the Gospel:

The door is open today.

Grace is available today.
Forgiveness is available today.
Salvation is available today.

And Jesus doesn’t simply point us toward the door—Jesus is the Door.

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved.” — John 10:9 (NKJV)

If you’ve never placed your faith in Jesus Christ, don’t put off until tomorrow what God may be calling you to do today.

And if you already know Jesus, ask yourself:

Who has God placed in my life who needs to know Him too?

Maybe this weekend God will give you an opportunity to pray with someone, invite someone to church, share your faith, or simply tell someone what Jesus has done in your life.

Not an urgency driven by panic.

An urgency driven by love.

Because today matters.
Eternity matters.
And people matter to Jesus.

🚪 THE DOOR IS OPEN TODAY 🚪

Tomorrow evening on The Jesus Effect — Jesus in Your Weekend, we’ll reflect on one of the most important invitations in Scripture:

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” — 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)

We often tell ourselves someday.

Someday I’ll get serious about God.
Someday I’ll surrender.
Someday I’ll have that conversation.
Someday I’ll take that step of faith.

But Scripture keeps bringing us back to one word:

Today.

Jesus is still calling.
Grace is still available.
Forgiveness is still available.
Salvation is still available.

Because today matters.
Eternity matters.
And people matter to Jesus.

Jesus: Walking by Faith Every Day
📖 2 Corinthians 5:7

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

It’s easy to think about our faith on Sunday.

We worship.
We hear God’s Word.
We spend time with other believers.

But what happens when Monday comes?

Following Jesus was never intended to be a once-a-week experience. Faith is meant to shape the way we live every single day.

Walking by faith means trusting God when we can’t see the entire path ahead. It means following Him through the big decisions—but also through the ordinary moments of life.

One conversation.
One decision.
One act of kindness.
One moment of forgiveness.
One step of obedience at a time.

Maybe today God isn’t asking you to understand everything that lies ahead. Maybe He’s simply asking you to trust Him with the next step.

You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you can trust the One who walks with you today.

Faith isn’t just for Sunday—it’s the way we live every day.

🎧 Join me for Episode 5 of Summer Reflections as we discover what it means to walk by faith every day.

🎙 NEW EPISODE | The Jesus Effect

Jesus in Your Weekend
Be Quick to Listen
📖 James 1:19

In a world where everyone wants to be heard, God calls us to something different.

“Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” — James 1:19

This weekend, you’ll have conversations with family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and fellow believers. Some of those conversations may seem ordinary—but one of them could become a divine appointment.

One of the greatest gifts you can give someone isn’t always the right answer. Sometimes it’s simply your willingness to listen.

In this episode of The Jesus Effect, we’ll discover how listening well reflects the heart of Jesus and how slowing down to truly hear others can strengthen relationships, calm conflict, and open doors for God to work.

As you head into the weekend, ask yourself:

Who needs me to listen more than I speak?

May our words be filled with grace, our hearts with patience, and our lives reflect the love of Christ.

Summer Reflections – Episode 4

Stop Hiding
📖 Genesis 3:8–10

When Adam and Eve sinned, their first instinct wasn’t to run to God—it was to hide.

Isn’t that often our response too?

When we fail… we hide.
When we’re ashamed… we withdraw.
When we feel guilty… we distance ourselves from the very One who can restore us.

But the beautiful message of the gospel is this: God never stopped pursuing us.

In this episode of The Jesus Effect, we’ll discover that the God who walked through the Garden calling, “Where are you?” is the same God who lovingly calls to us today—not to condemn us, but to bring us home.

Adam hid behind a tree because of his sin. Jesus willingly went to a tree—the cross—so that you and I would never have to hide from God again.

If you’ve been carrying fear, shame, regret, or failure, I pray this episode reminds you that God’s grace is greater than your past, His mercy is new every morning, and His invitation still stands:

Come to Me.

NEW EPISODE | Jesus in Your Weekend

Abide in the Vine

📖 John 15:4–5

In a world filled with constant distractions, it’s easy to become so busy doing life that we forget the One who gives us life.

In John 15, Jesus gives us a beautiful picture of the Christian life. He is the Vine, and we are the branches. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit unless it remains connected to the vine, we cannot experience the abundant life Christ desires for us unless we remain connected to Him.

The Christian life isn’t about trying harder—it’s about abiding more deeply. As we spend time with Jesus through His Word, prayer, and daily dependence on Him, His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and grace begin to grow in our lives.

As you head into this weekend, don’t become so busy doing things for Jesus that you forget to spend time with Jesus.

Take a few moments to slow down, open God’s Word, and remain connected to the One who gives life to every branch.

Summer Reflections
Episode 3

At the Table with Jesus

📖 Luke 10:38–42

Life can become so busy that even good responsibilities begin to crowd out what matters most.

Martha was serving Jesus, but Mary chose to sit at His feet, listen to His words, and spend time in His presence. Jesus lovingly reminded Martha that she was worried and distracted by many things—but Mary had chosen the better part.

In this episode of Summer Reflections, we consider an important question:

How much time are we actually spending with Jesus?

Prayer is more than bringing Him our requests. Reading Scripture is more than checking something off a list. Jesus invites us into a relationship—to slow down, listen, learn, and rest in His presence.

This week, turn down the noise, set aside the distractions, pull up a chair, and spend time with Jesus.

The world will always demand more of your time, but Jesus offers something the world never can:

His presence. His peace. His love. His grace.

NEW EPISODE - Jesus in Your Weekend
🧂💡 Salt and Light
📖 Matthew 5:13–16

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.”

Notice He didn’t say, “You might become…” or “One day you will be…” He said, “You are.”

If you’ve placed your faith in Jesus Christ, He has called you to make a difference right where He has placed you. Whether you’re at home, at work, in your neighborhood, or with family and friends, your life has the opportunity to point others toward Him.

In this week’s Jesus in Your Weekend, we’ll explore what it means to live as salt and light in a world that desperately needs the hope of Christ. You’ll be encouraged to let your words, your actions, and your everyday life reflect the love of Jesus so that others may see Him through you.

As you head into this weekend, ask God to show you someone who needs encouragement, kindness, or hope. You never know how one conversation, one smile, or one act of compassion might become the very thing God uses to draw someone closer to Himself.
