As a student you are able to join us for in-person classes or online via a livestream option. Our two in-person campus locations are located in Chesterfield and Henrico. We offer the opportunity for those who are interested to earn two different certificates. The available certificates are the Practical Theology certificate and the Advanced Church Leadership certificate.

Meet Pastor Wade Runge 👋🏽

Pastor Wade Runge is the Senior Pastor of M3 Church in Richmond, VA, with a deep passion for reaching the lost and helping people discover their God-given purpose. With over 30 years of preaching experience, a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership, and more than 20 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, his leadership is marked by faith, discipline, and a true heart for the community.

He is the founder of M3 Bridge Recovery, author of Good Shepherds Smell Like Sheep, and a mentor to pastors across the nation. Pastor Wade joined the River City School of Leadership faculty in 2024, and we are honored to learn from his wisdom, experience, and commitment to raising up strong leaders.

📖 This semester, he is teaching Old Testament Survey.
This course provides a foundational survey of the Old Testament through its history, context, and structure. Students will explore major Bible characters, people groups, key events, and the covenants God made with His people, while discovering how the Old Testament points forward to the redemptive life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Meet Pastor Steve Stells 👏🏽 Our very own Pastor Steve Stells is back for another semester!

🙌🏽 As the Founding Pastor of Hope Point Church and Dean of Faculty at River City, Pastor Steve carries a deep passion for equipping the next generation with a strong biblical foundation and a genuine love for God’s Word.

This semester, he’ll be teaching Life of Christ, walking students through the life, ministry, teachings, and mission of Jesus. His heart is to see lives transformed through a deeper understanding of who Jesus is—and he would love to see you in class!

Meet Pastor Joette Lehberger 👋
Joette brings over 40 years of experience in nursing, education, leadership, and ministry. With master’s degrees in Nursing Leadership, Christian Counseling, and Christian Education, she has served as a professor, dean, campus director, and school principal, and currently serves as Director of Client Success for Ascend Learning.

Ordained in ministry, Joette is a Care Pastor at Hope Point Church alongside her husband of 42 years, Doug, where they lead marriage ministry and counseling. She is teaching Pastoral Care and Biblical Concepts of Leadership, and joined the River City faculty in 2024. We are honored to have her!
