A definition of occasional preaching: “forms of preaching that occur in response to occasions outside the normal weekly Lord’s Day service.” (McClure, PW)
We’re talking about: weddings, funerals, ordinations, ecumenical services, conferences, other pastoral occasions, and more. Although they are less frequent, we may also consider Holy Week, Christmas Eve, Watch night, and other notable services connected to liturgical calendars.
