"I love Rantoul, Illinois because it’s home and it’s where a lot of my memories were made. It might be a small town, but it’s got its own vibe and everybody pretty much knows everybody. There’s something about the familiar streets, the people, and the sense of community that just makes it feel comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you can grow up, see the same faces, and always feel like you belong. Rantoul may not be big or flashy, but it’s got heart, and that’s why I love it."

"Rantoul is my hometown. I moved away after high school, but moving back in 2020 really felt like coming home. I love raising my son in the same town I grew up in and being close to family again. I’m very grateful we found RCC, we have met some really great people who have become like a second family to us, and it truly feels like we have a little village here!"

“I love the small town feel and community. I appreciate the investment in kids and families, and the emphasis on building up the next generation. I think RCC reflects some of those qualities as well, as we strive to build one another up, from the younger to the older among us, united in Christ so that he is glorified.”

Join us for our new sermon series through The Gospel of Mark!

For the past several weeks, we’ve traced God’s covenant promises. Time and time again, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness to failing people. Kings rose and fell, but God’s redemptive plans never wavered.

This week, we turn to the Gospel of Mark, where those promises take on flesh. Mark announces good news that the promised King has come. But Jesus isn’t the king anyone expected. Instead of crushing His enemies and seizing power, Jesus serves, suffers, and gives His life as a ransom for many.

Though Jesus isn’t the King people expected, He is exactly the King we need. Join us as we explore the surprising life of King Jesus!

Meet Sarah Carmichael!

Sarah serves on our music team as a pianist and vocalist. She also serves as a mentor for our worship leader and shares her 20+ years of experience serving on worship teams.

What does Sarah love about Rantoul?

"We moved to Rantoul from Northern Michigan in 2023, after my husband's job asked him to open and manage their new warehouse located in Champaign. We chose to start out in Rantoul because of its slower small-town pace and affordable housing.

I was heartbroken to leave my friends and family, my job, and a church I loved. Getting connected at a church was a priority for me.

My husband and I visited RCC in January 2023 when it met in the old church building on the decommissioned Air Force base. I was impressed that several young families attended the church. People were genuinely excited to meet us and we could see how they cared for eachother. We felt welcomed by everyone.

The first few months living in Rantoul I was scared, lonely, and stressed about the big changes happening in my life. Thanks to RCC, I've been able to find new friends and am discovering East Central Illinois feels more like home every day."

Good morning, we will be gatheirng this morning, even though it will continue to snow throughout the morning. Our children's ministry will be closed though, to allow everyone the freedom to decide what is best for them and their family on this wintery morning.
