Calvary Chapel Rancho Santa Margarita Corporate Fast Invitation
Dear Church Family,
We are excited to invite you to join us for a special time of corporate fasting and prayer, starting this coming Monday. Our goal is to seek the Lord together, asking Him to save our specific friends and family members who do not yet know Him. We also desire to experience His promises, be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit, and grow in our understanding of His Word and ability to hear His voice in prayer.
Fasting Schedule:
- Monday & Tuesday: Eat breakfast and lunch, then drink water only after lunch.
- Wednesday & Thursday: Eat breakfast, then drink water only after breakfast.
- Friday & Saturday: Drink water only, focusing on private prayer and connecting with other church members for prayer.
Please remember, this fast is an invitation, not an obligation. We encourage everyone to participate as they feel led by the Lord. If you choose not to join us in fasting, know that you are still a valued part of our community.
For those who do join, we will ease into the fast to help our bodies adjust. Our focus will be on private prayer and fellowship, lifting up our loved ones to the Lord, seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and growing in our walk with Him.
Here are some scriptures to guide and encourage us during this time:
- Seeking the Lord "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13).
- Salvation for Loved Ones: "Brothers and sisters, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved" (Romans 10:1).
- Filling of the Holy Spirit: "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18).
- Hearing God's Voice: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27).
- Understanding His Word: "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path" (Psalm 119:105).
Thank you for considering joining us in this special time. We look forward to seeking the Lord together as a church family.
Blessings,
Pastor Tom
