Last Sunday Pastor Dave gave another entry to his Hymns of Faith series at the Seed Christian Fellowship, where we met the ancient Irish prayer that became “Be Thou My Vision”—a cry for Christ to be our light, our wisdom, and the Lord of our heart.

Drawing from Proverbs 29, Habakkuk 2, and Pentecost, Dave asks: Who is shaping your vision? Where there is no revelation, people drift. Write the vision down. Make it plain. Wait for it—even if it lingers. The righteous live by faith.

Ask God what He wants to do in you so He can do something through you. Let Him be your vision.

Last week we heard a message from Pastor Dave’s Hymns of Faith series at the Seed Christian Fellowship, where we stand with Martin Luther—the copper miner’s son who nailed 95 questions to a church door and found his refuge in Psalm 46.

While the earth gave way and enemies sought his life, Luther sang, “A mighty fortress is our God.” God is not an idea; He is a place to run. Our safety is not in calm circumstances but in His presence: “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”

When the world shakes, run to the Fortress. Be still and know that He is God.

In this deeply moving message from Pastor Dave’s Hymns of Faith series at the Seed Christian Fellowship, we meet Horatio Spafford—the successful Chicago businessman who lost almost everything in the Great Fire, then watched his four daughters drown at sea. Sailing over the very waters where they perished, he wrote the words we still sing: “When peace like a river… it is well with my soul.”

Drawing from Psalm 31 and David’s cry, “Into your hands I commit my spirit,” Dave shows that true peace does not rest on our circumstances but on who God is.

Whatever your lot today, you can still say it is well—because He is still your God.
