Knightdale United Methodist Church

Knightdale United Methodist Church KUMC is an inclusive church in Knightdale & Raleigh
Love Louder. Connect Deeper. ❤️
Sundays @ 10am In 1917, the congregation known as KUMC was born.

Knightdale United Methodist Church (KUMC) is a community of faith thankful for its rich history and bright future in mission and ministry. In the late Nineteenth century, Methodism in Eastern Wake County included a congregation known as Oakey Grove Methodist Church which met in a small white frame structure that still stands today in the community of Shotwell. As the town of Knightdale incorporate

d and grew, the rural congregation noticed a need for a new church among the growing population there. Today, KUMC is still striving to move with God to be good neighbors and faithful partners in our community. KUMC now hosts its ministries from a new facility at the corner of Forestville and Old Crews Roads in Knightdale. We are growing as a community committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ and making it known that God's grace is for all people. Christ's table has room for you. KUMC is a Lighthouse Congregation of the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our KUMC youth are kicking off a new year with plenty of fun—and they’re looking ahead to some BIG things! 🙌

This year they’ll be diving deeper into Scripture, heading to Pilgrimage, serving our community, building friendships, asking big questions, and finding new ways to live out their faith.

And we couldn’t be more proud of them. ❤️

We’re excited to see all that God will do **in and through** these young people this year. But here’s something we want to make sure we say clearly:

**These are our young leaders.**

Not someday.
Not “when they grow up.”
Not the church of the future.

They are the church today!

Their voices matter. Their questions matter. Their gifts matter. Their faith matters. And we believe they have incredible things to contribute to the life of KUMC and to the community around us.

We can’t wait to see what they do next. We have a feeling it’s going to be pretty great. 💙

A big shoutout to our guest artist, Luca Clark, for leading worship with us on Sunday! 🎶

Luca was truly a gift—a beautiful voice paired with an even more beautiful spirit. We’re so grateful for the way he shared his gifts with our community!

And Luca wasn’t the only gift this summer. ❤️

Over the past few months, we’ve been blessed by so many different voices joining us on Sunday mornings—and we don’t just mean the ones coming from the stage.

If you’ve been a guest with us recently, THANK YOU! Whether it was your first Sunday, your first Sunday in a long time, or you’ve been showing up all summer long, your presence made a difference.

Church is better when more people bring their voices, stories, gifts, and presence to the table.

We’re grateful you were part of ours. 🫶

🍂 We’re gearing up for a fall launch at KUMC—and we’re kicking it off by talking about where we’re headed together.

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been listening, dreaming, praying, and paying attention to what God is already doing in our community. At Easter, we shared the vision we believe God is calling us toward:

**To serve as a heartbeat in the community so all feel connected and worthy of love.** ❤️

But what does that actually mean?

Throughout September, we’ll unpack those words together—what they mean to us, how they shape the way we want to be church, and why we believe they matter for the future of KUMC.

This isn’t just a new tagline. It’s an invitation to imagine what kind of church we can become together.

And we want you there.

**Plus the person next to you. Whoever that is.** 😉

Join us Sundays in September as we discover what it means to be a heartbeat in the community.

This last week I described a scene on a foggy morning. It was a scripture-come-alive moment where I imagined God creating the world, but in this subtle moment there was still more coloring and drawing left to do.

How do you imagine God creating the world around us in the beginning? What does that process look like for you?

Hey, I’m going to keep the rest of this short. Because tomorrow (if you’re reading this on Saturday) we’re slowing down to talk about one of my favorite words.

Sabbath.

Which, for right now, simply means rest.

So here’s what you can do to get ready for that time of worship.

For the three minutes it usually takes you to read these articles, why don’t you take those three minutes to sit still and rest?

Try it out.

Amen.
See you Sunday!

From the heart,
Rev. Steph Margeson

It’s the end of the first week of school at Beaverdam Elementary—the place we’re currently calling home for Sunday morning worship! 🏫💙

We were so glad to welcome teachers back with a little coffee and encouragement (special thanks to Unhinged Coffee and Cold Brew Cantina ☕️), and to welcome students back with signs, smiles, and plenty of high fives! ✋

We love getting to be part of the Beaverdam community, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to show up, lend a hand, and cheer on the incredible people who make this school such a special place.

Here’s to a fantastic school year filled with learning, laughter, new friendships, and lots of growth! We’re praying for students, teachers, staff, and families all year long. ❤️

And if you’re looking for a church home on Sunday mornings, come worship with us at Beaverdam! We’d love to see you. ⛪

Summer’s coming to an end, but the memories—and the work of being church—keep going! ☀️❤️

Over the past few months, we’ve had the joy of showing up for our community in all kinds of ways: serving families through Summer Table, helping kids get ready for a new school year, supporting our neighbors, and simply being present in the places where life is happening.

Some of these moments were big. Some were as simple as a conversation, a helping hand, or showing up when someone needed us. But all of them remind us of what we believe church is meant to be.

We want to be a blessing when we’re around—and missed when we’re not.

So here’s a little look back at some of the ways KUMC spent the summer loving our neighbors and being part of the community. And we’re just getting started. 💙

We all need a break. And a break together might be even better. If you're feeling overwhelmed, tired, or just curious, come sit with us for a while this Sunday. Sabbath is a gift, and so are you!
