Salaam Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
This spring marks 5 years since the passing of Syed-Mohsin Naquvi - Zakir-e-Ahlul Bayt (as), author, scholar, humanitarian, community reformer, and founder of Mohsena Memorial Foundation. Amongst many contributions, Mr. Naquvi pioneered the tradition of English majalis through much of the US to fierce opposition, which is now commonplace alhamdulillah. To celebrate his life and legacy, MMF will be holding a memorial in his honor on the afternoon of Saturday, June 14th at Sadiq School in Franklin, NJ. All those who loved and respected him are invited to attend.
The program will include manqabat in praise of the Ahlul Bayt (as), screening of a short documentary on his life created by his grandsons, 2 new books by the marhum published posthumously, launch of an online archive of his previously unpublished video lectures and articles, and reflections from family, friends, and community members.
We won't have time for everyone to share their thoughts in person, so if you would like to submit a 1-2 minute reflection by video, please get in touch at the email below and submit by May 31st. The program will be followed by a memorial dinner.
Speakers will include Professor Raza Mir (NJ), Professor Hassan Abbas (VA), who wrote the forewords for the 2 new books, and Zakira Shyrose Dhalla (Toronto), as well as others.
RSVP is required so we can plan accordingly:
