Thank you to everyone that supported the Rotary Club this weekend at the Orange Festival. Our club is able to provide scholarships to graduating seniors at SPHS through the monies made from Toddy sales, tips and the gun raffle. The District Governor of Rotary District 6840, Kathie Short visited the Plaquemines Parish South club on Tuesday August 15th. The special meeting was held at Woodland Plantation. Assistant District Governor Corey Dunbar also attended the meeting. The District Governor encouraged our club to work toward earning presidential citation. To receive this citation the club must complete goals that align with Rotary's strategic priorities: to support and strengthen clubs, focus and increase humanitarian service, and enhance Rotary's public image and awareness. Kathie presented Mr. Brian Bubrig with his Paul Harris award at the meeting. As a token of appreciation for Kathie's work as District Governor our club presented her with some gifts that are unique to Plaquemines. She received a carton of creole tomatoes and an Orange Festival Poster.
