You've seen this photo, but do you know why it matters? In 1973, Cicely Tyson and Diana Ross stood at the Academy Awards as the first pair of Black women ever nominated together for Best Actress. Cicely earned her nomination for Sounder, while Diana was recognized for her powerful portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues. This wasn't just a red carpet moment—it was history in the making.

Look at them. The grace, the elegance, the quiet power radiating from this single frame. Cicely, timeless and ageless, standing beside a young Diana Ross at the height of her crossover moment from music to film. Their beauty was undeniable, but their presence represented something far deeper—a breakthrough in an industry that had rarely honored Black women in leading roles worthy of Oscar recognition.

This moment opened doors that had been locked for decades. Their nominations weren't charity or tokenism—they were earned through performances that demanded respect and recognition. Every Black actress who has walked that red carpet since owes something to this historic night when two queens proved that Black women's talent could no longer be ignored by Hollywood's most prestigious awards. They didn't just wear gowns that night—they wore the hopes and dreams of countless performers who came before and paved the way for those who would follow.

To God be all the Glory!

Today, I stand in a place of freedom, healing, restoration, and victory. Another year now, I have been delivered from bo***ge, and I give God all the praise for His saving grace, mercy, and unfailing love. What only God could do, He has done completely and faithfully in my life.

I want to take this moment to sincerely thank every person who prayed for me, encouraged me, stood beside me, and believed in the power of God concerning my life. Your love, support, and faithfulness have meant more than words could ever express.

To my community of supporters, thank you for walking this journey with me. Your prayers, phone calls, words of wisdom, and acts of kindness strengthened me during difficult seasons. God used you as vessels of hope and encouragement.

To my family, Rogers, Mabins, Grahams, and Williams, thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for standing beside me through every challenge and every victory. Your support gave me strength, and your prayers covered me continually.

To my church family, NMLDM, thank you for embracing me, interceding for me, and helping me grow spiritually. Your love and fellowship reminded me that God never leaves His children alone. I am forever grateful for the spiritual covering, guidance, and encouragement you have provided.

Most importantly, I thank God for complete restoration. He has restored my mind, my heart, my peace, my purpose, and my joy. What the enemy meant for evil, God turned around for my good. I am living proof that God still delivers, heals, restores, and sets captives free.

As I celebrate freedom, I do so with humility, gratitude, and unwavering faith. My testimony belongs to God, and I pray it continues to encourage others to trust Him completely.

With heartfelt gratitude and love,

Apostle L. J. Rogers

🎬 THEY HAMM£RED THEIR GRANDMA, T0RCHED HER ALIVE, & THEN WENT TO SEE A H0RROR MOVIE! 🎬

D£adly Women: Season 9, Episode 7 Two To Ki||

While Detroit was burning and family members were screaming in ag0ny on the sidewalk, Larketa Collier (16) and Sharon Patterson (17) were sitting in a theater, eating popcorn and watching Jeepers Creepers 🍿

Can you imagine the level of PURE EV!L it takes to b|udgeon your own grandmother with a claw hammer, douse her living room in gasoline, and then calmly walk away to catch a 7:00 PM showing?

Witnesses saw them leaving the house looking like they were going for a stroll.

They didn't show up to the cr!me scene until hours later, showing ZERO REM0RSE while the neighborhood w£pt.

Bertha Atkins was 64 years old. She was sitting in her recliner—her safe place—when her own granddaughter turned into a m0nster.

To make sure the neighbors didn't hear the grandmother's final moments, the girls BLASTED THE RADIO.

A claw hammer was driven through Bertha’s upper l!p and t0ngue.

She was battered, broken, and then—while likely still c|inging to life—she was DOUSED IN GASOLINE.

They set her on fire right in her chair.

Why? Because the grandmother didn't approve of their relationship.

Imagine ki||ing the woman who gave you a home because she didn't like your girlfriend.

THE DISRESPECT IS UNREAL.

When the police finally got them, the true love vanished instantly.

They turned on each other like rats!

Larketa Claimed Sharon was the hammer-wielder but admitted to lighting the match "out of panic" so her mom wouldn't see the body.

Sharon Claimed Larketa handed her the hammer and f0rced her to hit Bertha.

She told investigators that when she asked Larketa why they did it, the 16-year-old simply said: "I hated the bitch.”

They were offered a plea deal for 25–40 years. They were so delusional they REJECTED IT, thinking they could beat the case.

The jury took only two hours to see through the lies.

They committed m*rder to stay together forever, but they ended up in separate prisons for the rest of their lives.

No parole. No movies. No true love. Just a cold cell and the memory of the grandmother they s|aughtered.

Should 16-year-olds who blast music to drown out screams ever be allowed a second chance at life?

Does going to the movies after a m*rder prove they are literal soci0paths?

Why did they think they could reject a plea deal after being seen leaving a burning house?! 🤡

Bertha Atkins deserved to grow old in her recliner, harmed by her own blood!

We cannot let these stories be forgotten.

if you think Life Without Parole is the only answer for such dem0nic crue|ty!

Do you believe she got justice!

Let’s stand with Bertha Atkins!

Do you think these girls got exactly what they deserved!
