Saplings Port Orange is growing, and we are looking for an energetic, dependable, and engaging After-School Enrichment Teacher to join our team!
This position is perfect for someone who knows how to balance structure with fun. We want our students to feel excited to arrive each afternoon while still following a consistent routine in a positive and well-managed environment.
Position Responsibilities:
• Assist with driving Saplings vehicles for afternoon school pickup
• Safely transport students from their schools to our facility
• Welcome students and lead them through our afternoon routine
• Supervise snack time
• Assist students with homework
• Lead a brief daily enrichment lesson and related hands-on activity
• Plan or assist with engaging art, STEM, creative, and educational activities
• Maintain a structured, upbeat, and encouraging environment
• Manage student behavior using positive and consistent expectations
• Help keep the classroom organized, safe, and ready for activities
• Communicate professionally with Saplings staff and families
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with school-aged children required
• Classroom, after-school, summer camp, childcare, enrichment, or youth-program experience preferred
• Must be comfortable managing a group of children while keeping them engaged
• Must be energetic, patient, dependable, organized, and professional
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving Saplings vehicles
• Must meet all driving, background-screening, and employment requirements
Required Availability:
Monday through Friday
1:00 PM–6:00 PM minimum
Pay:
$18–$20 per hour, depending on experience
We are looking for someone who can teach and create structure while bringing positive energy, creativity, and fun to our students’ afternoons. The right person will understand that children need clear expectations—but they also deserve an after-school experience that is exciting, engaging, and filled with opportunities to learn and connect!
