A nearly eclipsed Sturgeon Moon above Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. 🌑🏔️

Tonight, Earth's shadow will swallow almost the entire Moon.

At maximum eclipse, roughly 96% of the lunar disk will sit inside Earth's darkest shadow, leaving only a razor-thin bright edge exposed to direct sunlight.

The shadowed Moon takes on muted copper and rust tones as sunlight filters through Earth's atmosphere.

It isn't quite a total eclipse.

But from the mountains, it may look remarkably close.
