This Sunday in Kids First, we learned a powerful truth: God hears us when we pray!

We looked at Acts 12:1–17, where Peter was stuck in prison, and the church prayed for him nonstop. God answered their prayers in an amazing way by sending an angel to help Peter escape! This story reminded us that God listens when we talk to Him, cares about us, and is always at work, even when things feel hard or impossible.

Big Idea: God hears us when we pray.

Here are a few questions to keep the conversation going at home:

1. Who was in prison in our Bible story?
2. What did the people do for Peter while he was in prison?
3. How did God help Peter?
4. What are some things you can pray about?
5. When can we pray to God?
6. How does it make you feel knowing God hears your prayers?

This week, take a moment as a family to pray together and remind your kiddos that they can talk to God anytime, anywhere!

This Sunday, your kids learned from Acts 1:3–11 about when Jesus went back up to heaven. Before He left, He made a powerful promise to His followers that He would always be with them.

Our big idea was:
True story Jesus is always with us

Even though we can’t see Jesus with our eyes, He is still present in our lives every single day. He guides us, helps us, and never leaves us no matter where we go or what we face.

Keep the conversation going at home with these questions

• What do you remember about the story of Jesus going to heaven
• How do you know Jesus is with you even when you can’t see Him
• When do you feel closest to Jesus
• How can you talk to Jesus this week

This Sunday in Kids First.

We looked at Luke 24:13–35, the road to Emmaus. Two of Jesus followers were walking, feeling confused after everything that had happened. Jesus came alongside them, but they didn’t recognize Him at first. As He explained the Scriptures, their understanding grew and when He broke bread with them, they realized it was Jesus!

Big Idea:
The Bible reveals who Jesus is.

We talked about how the whole Bible points to Jesus and helps us know Him more.
