Intro- Is there someone you look up to who is like an icon Christian. They seem so on fire for God. They always seem to have the right answers. They are obedient to Jesus.
We see people in the Bible that just seem scary. Not in like a bad scary but like, they are scary and I would not want to mess with them.
What if I told you that with God, all things are possible. What if I told you that there is something that most every biblical figure who is in the Bible has in common and is the single scariest thing about them?

There is something that makes you feared by Hell. There is something that all of people we are about to hear about have in common. That is prayer.
Jesus himself addressed this-
Luke 22: 31
James 4:7
Eph 6:17–18.
Ever wonder why we pray before we eat?
One of the best times we can be a witness in public is praying before we eat
1 Samuel 9:13–14 As soon as you enter the city you will find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat till he comes, since he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now go up, for you will meet him immediately.” 14

The Scariest Christians are the ones Hell knows by name. They know bc they are in prayer.

Who will guard you against the evil one? Who?
How? Well God isn’t listening to me. He doesn’t hear me. Are you praying? Are you repenting of sin?
I want to help you today. I want to give you some practical kinds of prayers to help you.
Types of Prayers
Know that the first prayer the Lord answer is the prayer of salvation and forgiveness.
Prayer takes nine primary forms:
1)confession (acknowledging sin and seeking God’s mercy)John 1:9
2) praise (adoring God for who He is)-Psalm 150
3)thanksgiving (expressing gratitude for what He has done), Psalm 100
4)petition (making personal requests).-Solomon’s prayer in 1 Kings 3 ,Psalm 86,Psalm 136
5)commitment (expressing loyalty to God and His work), (Josh 24:15)
6)forgiveness (seeking mercy for personal sin or others’ sin), Daniel 9
7)confidence (affirming God’s sufficiency and the believer’s security in His love),
Psalm 25
8)Benediction or requesting god’s blessing
David’s prayer in 1 Chronicles 29 includes benediction:
9)intercession (requesting on behalf of others) 1 Tim 2:1-2
These varied expressions can be grouped into three major conversational categories: Request, Worship, and fellowship.
Lets take a time to pray now:
1st- give God thanks. Name some things you are thankful for.
2nd- Ask God to help you do his will and give yo the desire to read His word.
3rd- Find a Scripture to pray. Matthew 7:7 is a good one.
4th- Ask for forgiveness of sins and confess
5th- Ask God to help you not be tempted.
6th- Give God praise for something and ask him to speak to you. Just be still and listen for a few minutes.
