EPHESIANS 2 Weekday Bible Study
Saved by Grace
Salvation is entirely God’s work of grace, producing a new life of good works.
Paul reminds believers where they came from and what God has made them through Christ. The contrast between spiritual death and new life demonstrates the greatness of God’s grace.
Summary
Paul describes humanity as spiritually dead in trespasses and sins, following the course of this world and the desires of the flesh. But God, rich in mercy, makes believers alive together with Christ. Salvation is by grace through faith, not by human works. Believers are God’s workmanship, created in Christ for good works. Paul then explains how Christ has broken down the wall separating Jew and Gentile, creating one new people and giving both access to the Father through one Spirit.
