Her insulin pump suddenly failed!
So she is back on injections until the replacement arrives.
Insulin- sandwich- cheese - soda stream
Makes for a yummy lunch!

She gets some extra time playtime with Barbie and hang out with mommy until everything gets set back up.

From where I sit on Sunday mornings I can see the group of special needs adults who join us in service.

There are some teachers that sit with them. Among them are some of our staff pastors who take the time to love this group of people. They are some of my favorite staff here. They aren’t always the ones you see on stage but they are at the heart of our church, they serve, know, love, and teach the people so well.

Our special friends ministry is known and loved by our staff and pastors. We are most like Jesus when we serve those who can’t pay us back. When we serve the least of these.

My own daughter comes up to me and tells me “mommy, Jesus loves me.” She has been taught in a way she understands and shown the love of Jesus through our church. I am so grateful for this ministry and our church.

Grace was so excited for another day of !

A powerful lesson God keeps showing me.

The church, through the women’s ministry, hosts Baby showers for ladies who come to the pregnancy center and complete their parenting classes.

I had the joy of attending a shower this past weekend. Grace wanted to come, so I brought her. She loved on the new mommy and was so excited she had a baby in her tummy.

Part of me worries because I’m never sure how people are going to react to Grace (this has become a thing as she gets older). The new mommy was sweet with her. She told me she had even nannied for a family who had a daughter with Down syndrome.

Here is the lesson through;
For all the hard, all the challenges, and even broken dreams…
God still has His way He uses Grace.
She loves without reservation. She sees past the obstacles that get in our way.

It’s a challenge but I do want to bring Grace along with me when I can. When I do I have a front-row seat to watch God work.

Our God is a God who uses ALL things for good and His glory.

I love that teachers share pics of her in class at church. 💜 is such a blessing to her and and me. God provided long before I even knew to ask. I have no words for how thankful I am.

📖 She gets to come and learn about Jesus in a way she can understand (not just sitting in a room with a lesson that is far above her understanding).
💜 She has friends she can relate to.
⛪️ She is safe and loved as only the church can love her.

Last night we had a Mommy & Grace night. Special time with her doesn’t look like it might with other 13yr old girls. This is both a moment of grief and one to remember to celebrate what God has given us.

The PCA cheer girls came over to the Special Friends class and taught them a few cheers.
They will join the cheerleaders on Monday night at the game!

Grace loves to sing and dance with all her movies. I knew she’d enjoy this. I can’t wait to see her shine on Monday!
