River of Life Revival Ministries "We must be global Christians with a global vision, because our God is a global God."

--John Stott Contact him at [email protected].

Mark and Lois began ministry in Latin America in March 1975. Three days after their wedding, they were headed for Mexico as missionaries. In March 1976 Mark began serving in Guatemala and the family moved there in August of that year. In 1981 the Simpsons were off again, this time to the Amazon jungles of Peru. River of Life still goes to these three countries on a regular basis, as well as many o

thers as well. The ministry that helped us get started, Southeast Asia Prayer Center, has many books and other resources on this vital subject. Mark Geppert's famous book on prayerwalking is now available in Spanish, and he has a coordinator in Guatemala, a precious co-worker named Amilcar Cabrera of New Hope Missions. This Mission ministry is also involved in training and sending Guatemalans to many nations. "Leadership Resources International" reports that in Central Mexico where they have worked, 80% of the pastors have no formal training. This has been our experience during our own ministry into Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Peru. Utilizing many years of long and short term experience in Latin America, Mark and other ministers who will be working with River of Life, like our affiliate Sergio Villanueva of Devotion Ministries, will continue to work in leadership training for the churches, missions training for those interested in reaching this harvest field, and raising up workers who are able to equip Latin Americans in the other areas listed above. Churches both here and overseas are beginning to hear God's specific vision for them and the part they are to play. This is vital because God's workers must work in conjunction with them, side by side, serving and equipping. "He has been appointed by the churches to travel." (II Cor. 8:19) We are hearing from many places, "Come over and help us." (Acts 16:9) God uses His churches to do the sending. Have you, and has your church, heard from the Spirit, the great Orchestrator of world evangelism, about your role in the task?

BOOK AND STUDY RESOURCES BY MARK SIMPSON (English)
Many of these are also available in Spanish.

(all these resources are available in PDF or in MS Word format)

1) “The Unashamed Workman” Part I
Part I includes three major themes that Mark trains leaders all over the world, discusses the nature of legitimate authority, how that authority forms a winning ministry team, and what that team is called to build: profiles of a healthy church.

2) “The Unashamed Workman” Part II
This book includes three more major themes for leaders: how to disciple your people, the leader’s private devotional life and time alone with God, and the importance and path to having a good name, a name that can be trusted.

3) “My Assignment”
How do I find, enter into, and maintain faithfully to this life’s end, my calling from God in life?

4) “The Facets of the Jewel of Faith”
A commentary on the book of Hebrews with an emphasis on the aspects of a mature faith; 66 different aspects of sound Biblical faith are examined.

5) “Why some folks don’t fit in ANY church and why some churches can’t be pastored”
A favorite in our seminars, this study reveals several spiritual “diseases” that can affect supposed Christians, that makes them incompatible no matter where they attend. The second section speaks to entire churches that can become un-pastorable.

6) “Religious Spirit vs. Holy Spirit”
Lots of folks in the churches APPEAR to have the Holy Spirit when in reality another spirit is at work. This is nothing new. What are we talking about? How do we discern between the two?

7) “It’s Not Ripe Yet”
What is happening during the maturing of our faith?

8) Wise and Great Sayings, or Points to Ponder
A book of modern-day proverbs, clearly presented from a Biblical perspective

9) From the Vision to the Valley to the Victory: the life of David

10) Peter and his Lord: the life of Peter

11) Lovers Love to Be Alone: the purpose of aloneness in the believer’s life, and how to maximize my time with Him

12) Premarital Counselling Guide: Mark spent many years pastoring, and during his counselling appointments with those wanting to get married, composed his own Bible-based premarital counsel guide.

GOLIATH AND SAUL by Mark Simpson, Founder/President

Two giants in David’s life. Giants, adversaries, but different.

Goliath, defeated and decapitated in one day.

Saul, an ongoing, seeming to be never-ending conflict that lasted approximately seventeen years.

We wish all of our spiritual battles got dealt with as fast as that stone dealt with Goliath’s huge head.

But it is not always like that. The battle against Goliath came from someone who knew nothing about David until it was too late.
Saul, on the other hand, was being used by the enemy to isolate David. To insult him, and accuse him. To cut him off, from his parents, his wife, his best friend. To keep him separated from family, as the powerful and intelligent principalities and powers working against him through the life and influence of Saul went on and on with apparently no end in sight.

We pray for our loved ones, as David prayed for his father-in-law Saul. But Saul never responded to any of those prayers, except for occasional emotional outbursts of “Yes, David, you are right! You are righteous, and I have been foolish!” Those brief outbursts were followed by more jealous fury and rage and divisive tactics, knowing, as Satan knows well, that a house divided against itself cannot stand. How will David be able to stand when I have isolated him from all that is supposed to support and encourage him—even isolating him from God’s house that he loves so much?

DIRTY TACTICS
This is how Satan plays. Dirty. No rules, no conscience, no acknowledgement of God’s word, just an outward, do’s and don’ts religion covering over deep jealousy and bitterness and a complete refusal to forgive as we have been forgiven, or to confess and apologize. “Confess and pray for each other that you might be healed,” James tells us: a totally ignored verse by many. I am a participant in a large, nationwide Facebook support group called Christian Parents of Estranged Adult Children. There are millions in this group! The accounts of brokenhearted parents and grandparents are a literal multitude, and sometimes their stories and cries for prayer are devastating beyond description.

No doubt about it: the “Stronghold of Saul” is a powerful enemy of the body of Christ—worse than Goliath, if you can imagine! It went on for so many years in David’s life that in I Samuel 27 he gave up for a season and went to live with the enemy. God did restore him, even through the additional heartbreak of seeing his beloved family members die on the field of battle rather than turn and be reconciled. He lost his best friend and brother-in-law Jonathan through all this. The losses from this spiritual stronghold have been immense.

THIS LIFE IS NOT EASY! MANY ARE AT WAR, NOT WITH IRAN, BUT WITH PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS (Ephesians 6:10-18) WITHIN OUR OWN GATES.

I just put a sign on my office door. It reads WAR ROOM. I am spending hefty amounts of prayer and intercession, for so many of us. Saints, we are not alone.

MARCH 10, 2026
FROM THE FOUNDER/DIRECTOR

As a missionary with over 50 years of experience all over Latin America--Central, South and Caribbean--my heart rings with excitement this morning as I see in the news the distinct possibility that VERY SOON, CUBA COULD BE FREE!

In the 31 countries I have visited around the world, the poverty of Cuba hit me harder than any other nation I have seen. It is crushing, lasting for decades with no apparent end in sight. Up til now? Is it possible?? Brethren, pray for this! Cuba, free again!

First missionary to be sent from the United States

Over 200 years ago, Adoniram Judson and his wife and family left for India. They wound up in Burma. His translation of the Bible into Burmese permanently impacted this nation (now Myanmar).

FROM OUR FOUNDER/PRESIDENT, JUST HOME FROM A TREMENDOUS NINE-DAY TRIP TO MANY PLACES IN GUATEMALA: MY 50TH ANNIVERSARY PREACHING THE GOSPEL IN THAT BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!

GOOD WORD FOR TODAY:

HELLO THERE, NET.
Why do I call you that?
Jesus made two unconditional promises:
- I will build my church.
- I will make you a fisher of men.
Someone is going to be used to catch others and build His church; if not you, then who?

His order: We have to do the second one in order to have materials to see the first one built.

And how do we become fishers, catchers of others? The primary way in Jesus' day was to use a net. So, we are becoming nets for Him.

What do we learn about these nets?
- They are washed Luke 5:2
- When torn, they get mended Matt. 4:21, Mar. 1:19
- They then get let down, cast, into the water Lu. 5:4
Jesus modeled this with the Samaritan woman: He broke traditions, then broke the ice in sensitive conversation, then broke the news of the Gospel . . . and “caught” a whole Samaritan town as a result. SO MANY NETS ARE AFRAID TO BE CAST OUT!
- They get cast where Jesus tells us to cast them! Lu. 5:4
- They get filled Lu. 5:6
- We are amazed that He would use our net! Lu. 5:9

Then, we share the testimony of our amazement at how God used us, & motivate and ask other “nets” to come over and help! Lu. 5:7

COME OVER AND HELP US!!
