St Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat Center - Pittsburgh

St Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat Center - Pittsburgh St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center offers one day and weekend retreats for men and women. Religious and non-profit groups may use our facility as well.

The Passionist Congregation, a religious order of priests and brothers, came to Pittsburgh in 1852 at the invitation of Bishop Michael O'Connor and settled in South Side. A monastery and shrine Church were constructed in honor of their founder to serve the needs of immigrants from Europe. The Passionists were known as a preaching community who traveled to parishes and retreat centers telling the p

eople about God's love for them. In 1921 a retreat center was built for men with the support of Bishop Regis Canevin. The retreat center offers parish based retreats through the year, in addition to 3 recovery retreats for men and women who struggle with substance abuse. The retreat staff offers days and evenings of reflection during the year.
