Jackie Robinson broke barriers with talent, tenacity and unshakable faith. On this day in 1947, he became the first Black athlete to play Major League Baseball, forever changing the game.
His courage wasn’t just athletic—it was spiritual. He once said, “I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me… All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”
