FAMILY DAY 2026
On Sunday, June 7, we held our traditional day when our families come together for the afternoon. We had beautidful weather after the storms and even tornados in some areas on Saturday. Lots of laughter with good conversations and lots of memories were shared. Many people left as winners of some wonderful prizes.

The Feast of Corpus Christi

Today, on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we pause to remember a truth so profound that it can easily become familiar: Christ gives us Himself - fully, completely, with our reservation - in the Eucharist.

When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we are not simply taking part in a ritual. We are entering into a living communion - with Jesus, and with one another. The Eucharist is not just food for the soul; it is the very life of God poured into us, strengthen us to be His presence in the world.

In a world often marked by division, the Eucharist draws us into unity. In a culture that prizes self-sufficiency, it teaches us dependence - not on ourselves, but on the One who is the Bread of Life. And in moments when we feel empty, it fills us with the love that never runs out.

Let us remember: we do not just carry Jesus within us - we are sent to carry Him to others. The same Jesus received at the altar longs to be shared in our words, our actions, and our compassion. May our lives become a living tabernacle, so that when people encounter us, they encounter Him.

SEEDS OF KINDNESS

Gardening is a never ending job during the days of spring and summer for Sister Janelle Banko at St. Agnes Convent. There is nothing like fresh grown garden produce and so much yield in a small space. Potatoes, strawberries (We have been feasting on them for several weeks now, so sweet and juicy and no white centers- yummy!), lettuce, radishes, peas, garlic, onions, tomatoes, basil, rosemary, and more to be planted. The produce is shared with neighbors, our Sisters, and parishioners when there is an abundance, especially when harvesting the cucumbers and tomatoes. Then to beautify the front of our convent, the tulips and daffodils are finished blooming, the daisies will be in full bloom in the next few days, snapdragons, and hopefully the zinnias will be coming soon, (the birds enjoyed several previous plantings).

SEEDS OF KINDNESS

Oh, what delight spring brings when it comes to gardening! Sister Donna Smith tends to the cucumbers and zucchini guarded by a border of marigolds with background of pots housing tomato and pepper plants. Then there are the blueberry bushes on the side. We all look forward for when all plants begin to produce. All being grown in Mary’s Garden, at Martina Center. Hopefully, God’s four legged creatures will save some produce for us.

A couple, who are parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, were traveling to CA to care for a daughter after surgery. On the trip the wife looked out the window and captured this picture. She sent a text along with the picture below that said "Would you say the Holy Spirit is with us".
