SEEDS OF KINDNESS
Gardening is a never ending job during the days of spring and summer for Sister Janelle Banko at St. Agnes Convent. There is nothing like fresh grown garden produce and so much yield in a small space. Potatoes, strawberries (We have been feasting on them for several weeks now, so sweet and juicy and no white centers- yummy!), lettuce, radishes, peas, garlic, onions, tomatoes, basil, rosemary, and more to be planted. The produce is shared with neighbors, our Sisters, and parishioners when there is an abundance, especially when harvesting the cucumbers and tomatoes. Then to beautify the front of our convent, the tulips and daffodils are finished blooming, the daisies will be in full bloom in the next few days, snapdragons, and hopefully the zinnias will be coming soon, (the birds enjoyed several previous plantings).
