Risen Savior Lutheran Church has a home. 🙏
We are overjoyed to announce that our first worship service will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 at 170 Edmond Rd. NW, Piedmont, Oklahoma.
This has been months in the making — a community of faithful people believing that Piedmont deserved a confessional, Word-centered Lutheran congregation. Now it's real.
We are deeply honored that Rev. Dr. David Nehrenz, President of the Oklahoma District of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, will preach at our inaugural service. His presence is a powerful sign of the broader Lutheran family's investment in this new congregation — and in this community.
If you walk through the doors on August 23rd, you're not just attending a church service. You're a founding member of something that will outlast all of us.
Everyone is welcome. Bring your family. Bring your questions. Bring a neighbor.

One fell like lightning and deceived the whole human race.
One falls like fire and guides the Church into all truth.
At Pentecost we celebrate the third person of the Holy Trinity — the Paraclete, the Advocate, the Comforter. Not a force or a feeling, but God Himself, dwelling within His people, cleansing from within, leading into all truth.
Two descents. Two fires. One ends in ruin. One brings life.
"When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me." — John 15:26
This Pentecost, Risen Savior Lutheran Church gives thanks for the gift the world cannot give — God who does not stay distant, but descends.

Forty days after the resurrection, Jesus gathered His disciples on a hillside in Bethany. He had walked with them through grief and wonder, opened the Scriptures to them, eaten with them, shown them His wounds. And now, with His hands raised in blessing, He was lifted up before their eyes and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
But before He ascended, He left them — and us — with a promise that has carried the Church for two thousand years:
"And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." — Matthew 28:20
The Ascension is not an absence. It is a coronation. Christ has not left His people; He reigns at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us, governing all things for the sake of His Church. And by His Spirit, He remains as near to us as our own breath — present in His Word, present in His Sacraments, present wherever two or three are gathered in His name.
A blessed Ascension Day from all of us at Risen Savior.

For most of the Church's history, those words were taken at face value. They still are in the Lutheran church.
When we gather for the Lord's Supper, we believe Christ is truly present — His body and blood, in, with, and under the bread and wine, just as He said. Not a memorial. Not a metaphor. A real feast, given by a real Savior, for real sinners who need real forgiveness.
That's why Lutheran worship has, from the beginning, placed the Sacrament at the center. And it's why we'll commune every Sunday at Risen Savior when our doors open this September — because the same Christ who walked out of the tomb still meets His people at the altar, week after week, with the same gift: "given and shed for you, for the forgiveness of sins."
Ancient words. Living faith. A gift your soul can taste.
