Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral At Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, we gather in Christ's name to give thanks and praise to God and to serve our community.

A unique urban center, we open our doors to feed the hungry, to pray, to be inspired by the arts,, and to welcome all with love. The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania (http://www.diopa.org) created the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral in 1992 as a seat for its bishop and asacred place of gathering for diocesan program and liturgy. The Cathedral offers a full schedule of worship for the community, diocese and its own Cathedral congregation. Cathedral worship includes our well-known and innovative Sunday liturgy, choral evensong, and Eucharist every week day at noon. The Cathedral is home to the Cathedral Singers, who perform a comprehensive repertoire of classic and modern sacred music. We also offer a lively concert series with performers of local and national merit. Through our Visual Arts program, the Catherdral serves as an exhibit space for artists from across the United States. The Godly Play Center at the Cathedral makes faith come alive for school-aged children using a rich Montessori based program of Biblical storytelling and creative arts. The Cathedral is also the home of a feeding ministry to our neighborhood’s hungry and homeless residents.

Bible study:

New to the Cathedral this year, We are launching a new program of Lunchtime Bible Study happening every week on Tuesdays at Noon on Zoom. Take some time out of your day to explore scripture with members of the Cathedral family. We will be starting in the beginning with Genesis 1 and discussing the various creation stories of the Bible.

Inquirers' Class:

We are exploring potential times for an Inquirer’s Class. Reach out to Jeremy if you are interested.

Whether you are brand new to organized religion, a cradle Episcopalian, or any combination of faith backgrounds and lack thereof, the Inquiers’ class is an inclusive space to learn and explore the Episcopal tradition and Christian history and theology. It is particularly helpful for those discerning confirmation reception into the Episcopal Church, with the hope that some may wish to be confirmed/received at the Easter Vigil here at the Cathedral. In the quiet grace of Saint Francis, we find a timeless reminder to care for all of God’s creations—great and small.

This Sunday, October 4th, the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral invites you to bring your beloved companions—whether feathered, furry, or finned—to receive a special blessing during our 10:00 a.m. service in honor of Saint Francis Day. Join us as we gather in reflection and gratitude for the faithful creatures who bring such profound joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our daily lives.

Whether you are new to the city or a lifelong Philadelphian, test your knowledge in Philadelphia-themed trivia.

In our ongoing call to love our neighbors as ourselves, true hospitality means actively creating spaces where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated.

On Sunday, September 27th, immediately following the 10:00 AM service at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, we invite you to join us for a special educational workshop presented by The Bryson Institute of the Attic Youth Center.

As part of our Good Neighbor series, this session will offer thoughtful, accessible guidance on pronouns, identity, inclusive language, and meaningful allyship. Whether you are beginning this journey or looking to deepen your understanding, people of all ages, backgrounds, and identities are warmly welcome to participate.
