Chariots for Hope exists to love, nurture and provide for vulnerable and orphaned children by creating and sustaining holistically healthy children's homes

Chariots for Hope, Inc. was founded in response to a financial crisis experienced at a network of children’s homes in Kenya affiliated with the Africa Inland Church (AIC). The AIC had been informed by a European organization, the sole financial sponsor of this children’s home network, that it would cease funding these homes over a period of 18 months. Chariots for Hope was formed in 2009 to partne

r with the AIC by providing operational leadership and financial support to the AIC network of children’s homes. Chariots assumed responsibility for its first two children’s homes in late 2009. Chariots added three homes in 2010 and two homes in both 2011 and 2012. It opened its tenth home in January of 2013. The ten Chariots homes include two baby homes and eight children’s homes, providing love and care for nearly 1,000 vulnerable and orphaned children. While the Chariots for Hope story began in 2009, the AIC children’s homes it oversees started operating in the 1970’s. Accordingly, when Chariots stood in the gap on behalf of these children’s homes in response to the crisis that threatened to close the entire network of homes, it enabled a rich history of caring for vulnerable and orphaned children at AIC children’s homes to continue. Many graduates of children’s homes that are today part of the AIC-Chariots for Hope network have become outstanding citizens in Kenya, including pastors and magistrates. Chariots for Hope continues to provides hope to vulnerable and orphaned children so that they develop into exemplary, impactful citizens and leaders.

Some of the most meaningful ministry happens behind the scenes. 💛

These wonderful volunteers are helping prepare sponsorship updates and letters from children in Kenya to be shared with their sponsors here in the U.S.

Every letter represents a relationship being strengthened across the miles a sponsor learning more about a child’s growth, interests, faith, and everyday life, and a child knowing there are people praying for them and cheering them on.

We are so grateful for volunteers who give their time and care to help make these connections possible. There are so many ways to be part of the Chariots for Hope mission. Sometimes it looks like serving in Kenya and sometimes it looks like sitting around a table, helping a letter make its way into the hands of someone who deeply cares. Thank you to everyone who faithfully serves alongside us. ❤️

This past month, our team had the privilege of celebrating Baby Day with more than 3,000 church members, community leaders, and friends gathered to honor the children God has entrusted to our care.

As children shared their stories, the room was filled with gratitude, emotion, and hope. These children are more than statistics. They are sons and daughters with dreams, gifts, and a future God has planned for them. ✨

Because of faithful partners like you, Chariots for Hope continues to provide a Christ-centered care, walking alongside orphaned and vulnerable children with reliable support, loving relationships, and opportunities to thrive.

Not every wound can be seen.

Every day in Kenya, we do far more than meet physical needs. 🌿

Our team receives trauma-informed training so they can respond with patience, consistency, and compassionate support...helping children feel safe enough to heal.

They comfort children after difficult nights. They help navigate big emotions. They patiently work through moments of fear, anger, or withdrawal that are often rooted in trauma long before a child encountered Chariots for Hope.

Alongside medical care, education, and nutrition, mental and emotional support is essential to helping every child thrive.

Every conversation, every hug, every technique taught is part of helping a child heal and experience the hope of a future with Christ. 🧡
