Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and awe for Your incredible love for me. Thank You for loving me unconditionally and for always being present in my life. Your love is a constant source of strength, comfort, and hope, and I am so grateful for it.

Thank You for demonstrating Your love through the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is through Him that I experience grace, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. Your love is a profound reminder that I am valued and cherished, no matter my circumstances or shortcomings.

Lord, I thank You for the little and big ways You show Your love every dayβ€”through the beauty of creation, the kindness of others, and the peace that fills my heart. Help me to recognize and appreciate Your love in every moment.

As I reflect on Your love, I ask that You help me to share that same love with those around me. May my words and actions reflect Your grace and compassion, bringing light to those who are hurting and lost.

Thank You for being faithful and for never leaving my side. Even in times of trouble, Your love remains a steadfast anchor for my soul. I am grateful for the assurance that nothing can separate me from Your love.

I praise You for who You areβ€”loving, merciful, and just. May my life be a testament to Your love, shining brightly in a world that desperately needs it.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen...

WOULD YOU GIVE UP EVERYTHING AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST?

Luke 18:19-23
[19]And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
[20]Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
[21]And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
[22]Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
[23]And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

One of the greatest hindrances in coming to Jesus is the excuse of our own individual temperament. We make our temperament and our natural desires barriers to coming to Jesus. Yet the first thing we realize when we do come to Jesus is that He pays no attention whatsoever to our natural desires. We have the idea that we can dedicate our gifts to God. However, you cannot dedicate what is not yours. There is actually only one thing you can dedicate to God, and that is your right to yourself (see Romans 12:1). If you will give God your right to yourself, He will make a holy experiment out of youβ€” and His experiments always succeed. The one true mark of a Child of God is the inner creativity that flows from being totally surrendered to Jesus Christ. In the life of a man or woman of God there is this amazing Well, which is a continual Source of original life. The Spirit of God is a Well of water springing up perpetually fresh. A man or woman of God realizes that it is God who engineers his or her circumstances; consequently there are no complaints, only unrestrained surrender to Jesus. Never try to make your experience a principle for others, but allow God to be as creative and original with others as He is with you.

If you abandon everything to Jesus, and come when He says, β€œCome,” then He will continue to say, β€œCome,” through you. You will go out into the world reproducing the echo of Christ’s β€œCome.” That is the result in every soul who has abandoned all and come to Jesus.

Have I come to Him? Will I come now?

THE OVERBROOK LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST

PRAY TO GOD FOR STRENGTH;

Galatians 6:9
[9]And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Here is a further caution given us, not to be weary in well doing, Galatians 6:9. As we should not excuse ourselves from any part of our duty, so neither should we grow weary in it. There is in all of us too great a proneness to this we are very apt to flag and tire in duty, yea to fall off from it, particularly that part of it to which the apostle has here a special regard, that of doing good to others. This therefore he would have us carefully to watch and guard against and he gives this very good reason for it, because in due season we shall reap, if we faint not, where he assures us that there is a recompence of reward in reserve for all who sincerely employ themselves in well doing that this reward will certainly be bestowed on us in the proper season--if not in this world, yet undoubtedly in the next but then that it is upon supposition that we faint not in the way of our duty if we grow weary of it, and withdraw from it, we shall not only miss of this reward, but lose the comfort and advantage of what we have already done but, if we hold on and hold out in well-doing, though our reward may be delayed, yet it will surely come, and will be so great as to make us an abundant recompence for all our pains and constancy. Perseverance in well-doing is our wisdom and interest, as well as our duty, for to this only is the reward promised. Here is an exhortation to all Christians to do good in their places v 10): As we have therefore an opportunity, It is not enough that we be good to others, if we would approve ourselves to be Christians indeed.

John 14:1-6,15-18
[1]Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2]In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[4]And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[5]Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
[6]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[15]If ye love me, keep my commandments.
[16]And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
[17]Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
[18]I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

The Lord the Keeper of Israel

A PRAYER FOR EVERYONE THAT WORSHIP THE GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH

Psalms 121:1-8

[1](A Song of degrees.) I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
[2]My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
[3]He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
[4]Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
[5]The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
[6]The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
[7]The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
[8]The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

"ARE YOU GIVING OR CARETAKING"

Giving

Don't be afraid of giving.

For a while, we maI hesitate to back off from giving as we learn to discern the difference between healthy giving and caretaking, which leave us feeling victimized and others feeling resentful. This is a temporary spot we may find ourselves in.

To be healthy, is to do our part with faith in Jesus Christ and in helping others, we must be guided by the Spirit of God. We need to learn to (give and receive). Both parts are important.

What is healthy giving?

This is a fine lined behavior each of us must seek to understand for ourselves. It is giving that feels good and does not leave us feeling victimized. It is giving that holds the giver and the receiver in high esteem.
It is giving based on a desire to do it rather than from a sense of guilt, pity, shame, or obligation. It is giving with no strings attached. Or it is giving based on a clean, direct contract and no people pleasing.
Whether it is giving our time, efforts, energy, comfort, nurturing, money, or ourselves, it is giving that we can afford.
Giving is part of the chain of giving and receiving. We can learn to give in healthy ways; we can learn to give in love. We need to keep an eye on our giving, to make sure it has not crossed the line into caretaking. But we need to learn to give in ways that work for us and others.Today, God, guide me in my giving. Help me give to others in healthy ways. Help me give what feels right, what feels good, what feels clean, and what I can afford
In Jesus Name Amen.

BIBLE STUDY TIME:

MINISTERING IN EVERYDAY SITUATIONS:

Ministering in everyday opportunities that surround us does not mean that we select our own surroundingsβ€” it means being God’s very special choice to be available for use in any of the seemingly random surroundings which He has engineered for us. The very character we exhibit in our present surroundings is an indication of what we will be like in other surroundings.

The things Jesus did were the most humble of everyday tasks, and this is an indication that it takes all of God’s power in me to accomplish even the most common tasks in His way. Can I use a towel as He did? Towels, dishes, sandals, and all the other ordinary things in our lives reveal what we are made of more quickly than anything else. It takes God Almighty Incarnate in us to do the most simple duty as it ought to be done.

Jesus said, β€œI have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you” (John 13:15). Notice the kind of people that God brings around you, and you will be humiliated once you realize that this is actually His way of revealing to you the kind of person you have been to Him. Now He says we should exhibit to those around us exactly what He has exhibited to us.

Do you find yourself responding by saying, β€œOh, I will do all that once I’m out on the mission field”? Talking in this way is like trying to produce the weapons of war while in the trenches of the battlefieldβ€” you will be killed while trying to do it.

We have to go the β€œsecond mile” with God (see Matthew 5:41). Yet some of us become worn out in the first ten steps. Then we say, β€œWell, I’ll just wait until I get closer to the next big crisis in my life.” But if we do not steadily minister in everyday opportunities, we will do nothing when the crisis comes.
