A federal rule change is open for public comment, but only through Thursday, August 6.

A proposed ATF rule would allow licensed firearm dealers to transfer guns to buyers who do not appear in person at the store, using video conference and remote identity verification, with the firearm then shipped or delivered to the buyer. A separate proposed rule would allow handguns to be sent through the US mail for the first time since 1927.

Federal agencies are required to read and consider every public comment before finalizing a rule. Whatever your perspective, this is one of the most direct ways to be heard, and it takes just a few minutes.

This past Saturday, members of St. Peter's Tohickon UCC in Bucks County came together to install the Memorial to the Lost.

Shirt by shirt, volunteers placed each one on its display. Each t-shirt displayed carries the name of a life taken by gun violence. Remembered. Named. Lifted in prayer.

Thank you to our Bucks County Coordinator Trish Rathbun and everyone at St. Peter's who stood witness with us. When a community pauses to read these names, hearts change.

Last night in Norristown, a 15-year-old was shot and killed. The shooter was 16.

This is Montgomery County. This is our backyard.

Grief alone won't stop this. Your voice can help. Pennsylvania legislators have bills right now that could save lives: ghost gun bans, Extreme Risk Protection Orders, expanded background checks. They need to hear from you.

THIS WEEKEND: Two communities in Chester County are standing up against gun violence.

Saturday, June 6 - West Chester Friends Meeting hosts the Memorial to the Lost. Hundreds of t-shirts, each one representing a life stolen by gun murder.

Sunday, June 7 - Wayne and Radnor come together for Ending Gun Violence Day at Central Baptist Church.

Every shirt has a name. Every name was somebody's child.

The afternoon will include prayer, singing, sharing, and a 1.3-mile walk through Souderton. Bring a sign or wear a shirt to show your support. After the walk, join us for letter writing to PA legislators at the Souderton Park Pavilion, followed by the installation of Memorial to the Lost T-shirts at Zwingli United Church of Christ.
