The Pagan Path

The Pagan Path We are located on the Phenix City, Alabama / Columbus, Georgia state line, and not to far from the Ft Benning, Georgia Army Installation.

The Pagan Path is a religious organization whose mission is to educate others about Pagan religions to eliminate the negative stereotypes surrounding paganism and those who practice pagan religions. The Pagan Path, a 501(a) recognized nonprofit religious organization and church, is dedicated to eliminating the negative stereotypes and stigmas associated with pagan faiths. Additionally, we provide

a safe and secure environment for pagans of all faiths to practice and openly worship in their chosen pantheon without the fear of persecution or discrimination and violence. We will be starting in-person and Zoom twice monthly gatherings in January. Historically, one has been during the full moon and then during a sabbath or something. I do want to say that when I say “gathering” we don’t mean we’re all coming together as a coven to work a ritual or spell or something. I literally mean just a gathering. We’re all just coming together to mingle and hang out with like-minded people. Maybe have a potluck dinner, drink a beer or two around a fire while we tell stories about the craziest spells we’ve cast, or the ones we shouldn’t have. Make a friend, become family, or decide you’d be better off sticking to the Zoom gatherings, or none at all.

We, as Pagans and those who practice other non-Christian faiths, need to be very diligent about protecting our First Amendment right to freedom of religion. It’s not a matter of “if” but, “when” because they will come for us. They are slowly chipping away at our democracy every single day. Our rights are being stepped on, ignored, and violated without recourse. They WILL come for this too. Are we going to let them strip this right away too?

On July 28, Tennessee State Representative Monty Fritts said out loud that he wanted to ban mosques and what he called “pagan religions.”

Fritts was running for governor when he said he wanted to ban non-Christian places of worship. He grouped Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism under the word pagan and argued that the First Amendment only limits Congress, not state governments.

The First Amendment protects the right of Americans to practice their religion without the government picking which faiths are allowed. That includes Pagans, witches, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and everyone else. Religious freedom does not mean freedom for one religion to control everyone else.

In early August, the Aquarian Tabernacle Church issued a response supporting Pagans, Wiccans and people following earth-centered, polytheistic and other non-Christian spiritual paths. They made it clear that our freedom is not something politicians get to hand out or take away based on their own religious beliefs.

Fritts lost the Republican primary on August 6, but nearly 168,000 people still voted for him. He received about 23.5 percent of the vote and won five counties.

Just a couple of hours left until the Lughnasadh Celebration. We’ve had a few people ask we are still having it. Yes, we are. We will have the canopy up and we have the patio. If it rains to hard, or we get some massive winds, we will take it inside and just get to know one another a little closer.
