SV Ladies Sodality celebrated our Christmas party today. First we attended Mass as a group. Mary, Janet, and Amy carried up the gifts at Offertory. After Mass we gathered for a yummy brunch from Park-et. We had scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and coffee cake from Hoeckeles. Brenda folded our napkins in a fancy way to hold our utensils.
Debby’s committee decorated the room with red and green tables cloths, sparkly red table cloths on the serving tables. Each table had red poinsettias or Christmas cactuses and these were later given away as attendance prizes. They also set up our Christmas tree with our chain of things we were thankful for from our November meeting. As members arrived the tree was soon surrounded with gifts for Options for Women or the Womens’ Crises Center.
After the meal, Elaine led the group in a craft activity. Using chip paint brushes, everyone made a Santa decoration. The surprising thing is that nobody dropped any rhinestones or googly eyes on the floor (this is an inside joke).
The party was concluded with a prayer and a blessing by Father Fred. It was a fun time and Debby’s committee did a great job hosting. Merry Christmas to everyone and a Blessed New Year to all!
