“Today is July 1st,” I said with curious excitement. New reflection from Jeff Holt — a short, meaningful read about memory, moments, and the quiet weight of words. Read the full post: https://wix.to/Th8OeyS

“Today is July 1st,” I said with curious excitement about the day. She replied, “Today is July 1st. No matter what.” I repeated, “No matter what.”

This past week was a week of stress. I noticed some things that were different about me. Then God reminded me of what I need to focus on.

Stress can take away your joy, Nehemiah reminded his people where their joy lies, and that they will be okay. I learned this lesson recently, and now I want ...

When trying to decide the best course of action for this ministry, my wife, Anna, gave me some simple but solid advice: “Keep it simple, and if something becomes too much, don’t do it.” It’s great advice—but it also means I can’t pursue one of my personal dreams right now. I just don’t have the margin for it. Even if I brought on volunteers, it would still require oversight, and I don’t have the capacity for that in this season.

After much prayer and a return to the basics, I am proud to announce the Gospel and Hope Blog, now available on our website. We will have different contributors and continue rolling out educational pieces designed to break the silence around mental health in the church and provide pastors with clear direction on where to find support and resources.

I recently wrote an article about a good friend of mine, Pastor Rio Taylor, and uploaded his story to the blog as well. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Soon we will be adding an email feature so new posts can go straight to your inbox. Until then, check out the article about Pastor Rio and the other pieces already published.

See how Rio's journey as a pastor took him from hurt to helping others.

I heard a line from a pastor this week at Oklahoma Baptists state’s convention. It got me thinking about pastors and some of the insecurities they face. What happens when you begin to face or already pastoral insecurity. Some say they aren’t good at their job, some actually believe it.

This past week, our denomination held its 119th state convention for Oklahoma Baptists. It was truly a great two days of hearing reports, seeing what the Lord is doing, and reconnecting with friends. On Monday, we had our Pastor’s Conference. I look forward to this day every year just as much as I...
