From the Gospel according to Matthew
18:15-20

Jesus said to his disciples:
"If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen,
take one or two others along with you,
so that 'every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church.
If he refuses to listen even to the church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Amen, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you,
if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,

Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the gift of Your Blessed Mother. We ask You to help us to imitate her and to turn to her in our needs.

Our Lady of Good Remedy, you wish to be a Mother to each of us and to lead us closer to Your Son. Jesus wishes all of us to honor you, His Mother, and to take you as our own Mother. There is a lot of good you wish to bring about in our lives through your intercession.

Today, let’s pray for all who practice poverty voluntarily. Let’s ask Our Lady of Good Remedy to intercede that God may bless and assist all who practice voluntary poverty.

Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the gift of Your Blessed Mother. We ask You to help us to imitate her and to turn to her in our needs.

Our Lady of Good Remedy, you came to the aid of St. John Matha when he sought your powerful intercession for the money that he needed. He did not seek financial gain for his own use but for the holy work of freeing Christian slaves from captivity.

Please hear our needs and respond with your powerful intercession on our behalf, and we particularly ask today that you intercede for all who practice poverty voluntarily!

Saint of the Day:ST. MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA

Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) is the patron saint of World Youth Day and the Missionaries of Charity, and serves as a co-patron of the Archdiocese of Calcutta.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta (1910–1997), born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in Skopje, felt a call to religious life at a young age. She joined the Sisters of Loreto and served as a teacher in India before experiencing what she described as a “call within a call” — to leave the convent and live among the poorest of the poor.

In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a congregation dedicated to serving the abandoned, the sick, and the dying. Her work brought comfort and dignity to those most forgotten by society, especially in the slums of Calcutta. With tireless compassion, she embodied Christ’s love in action, often saying, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian efforts. She died on September 5, 1997, and was canonized in 2016. Her feast day is celebrated on September 5, honoring her as a modern saint of charity and mercy.
