It is with much regret, but due to the heavy rain and possible thunder storms forecasted for today, the Cross Committee felt it wouldn't be safe to hold the Cross Service.

We apologize to everyone looking forward to the service this year, we are disappointed as well, but we would be devastated if someone was injured.

We will try again in 2023.

What would have been the 35th annual Easter cross service on the Paxinos Mountain was canceled again this year, due to ongoing concerns of COVID-19.

However, a virtual service was shown online at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3rd on the Boy Scouts Troop 247’s YouTube page. The service included an opening from the Scouts, the Easter sermon and a tribute to the late Harvey Buriak, who was instrumental in erecting and maintaining the cross and the nearby Boy Scouts camping area.
